Small School, BIG Heart! ☃️

Dear Fairfax Villa Community,

Thank you so much for your continued support and flexibility as we navigated a week full of two-hour delays. We know schedule changes can be challenging, and we truly appreciate your patience and partnership in helping us keep everyone safe while maintaining a sense of normalcy for our students.

We are also incredibly grateful to everyone who joined us for the PTA-sponsored Ice Skating Night. It was wonderful to connect with our school community outside of the school day and to see so many of our students enjoying time together on the ice. Events like these are special reminders of how strong and connected our community is.

As we look ahead, next week will be filled with exciting moments across our school. Our lower elementary students will be celebrating the 100th Day of School—a fun milestone that highlights just how much growth and learning has already taken place this year.

In addition, the week will include many opportunities for students and staff to show gratitude and appreciation for one another through Valentine’s Day activities. These moments help reinforce kindness, empathy, and a positive school culture.

Thank you, always, for trusting us with your children. Your support, involvement, and encouragement make a tremendous impact on the positive climate of our school, and we are so grateful to partner with you each day.

Warmly,

Ms. Textoris & Mrs. Burke

🍓Student Fasting Meal Kits

From February 18 to March 19, students who are fasting during the day can take school meals home. These kits include one breakfast and one lunch to be eaten after the school day ends.

Families must fill out a request form each week for every student who wants a kit. The first deadline is Wednesday, February 11, for the week of February 16. Please note other important details below:

  • Cost: Meals are charged just like a normal school day.
  • Pickup: Students must grab their kits at the end of the school day.
  • Menu: Kits include school meals that are easy to heat at home.

Visit the Food and Nutrition webpage for forms, deadlines, and other information. Please contact the Office of Food and Nutrition Services with any questions at FCPSFNS@fcps.edu or 703-813-4800.

🚌It’s Kindergarten Registration Time!

Kindergarten helps children learn and practice the social, emotional, problem-solving, and self-regulation skills they will use throughout their lives.

Fairfax County public schools typically conduct kindergarten registration events, including orientation, in the spring. Eligible children can be registered throughout the summer, but registering your child early helps schools prepare and ensure they have the teachers and resources needed on the first day of school.

If your child will attend our school, please gather necessary documents and complete registration forms as soon as possible.

FCPS offers support and resources for all families to help with registration and the transition to kindergarten. For support in other languages, please visit the FCPS Registration webpage.

🎵Third Grade Family Folk Dance Night

Mark your calendar for our 3rd Grade Family Folk Dance Night on Wednesday, February 11th! This event is for 3rd grade families only.

Students should arrive at 6:45 and the program will begin at 7:00 in the Fairfax Villa gym.

Come ready to dance!

✏️Attendance “Tip of the Week”

At Fairfax Villa, we have a school improvement goal around improving our attendance rate. We would like to see our absenteeism rate decrease this year from 12% to 9%.

Here is our Attendance “Tip of the Week!”
