1st grade students demonstrate understanding of vocabulary through creative movement.
A Note from the Bailey's Administration Team
Dear Bailey’s Families,
It was so wonderful to welcome our students back to school after last week’s closures due to winter weather and the staff development/teacher workday. Teachers and students jumped right back into learning, and it has been great to have our Tigers back in the building.
This past week was National School Counseling Week, which highlights the tremendous impact school counselors have in supporting students’ academic success and future planning. Our school counselors, Ms. Crummett and Ms. McKinney, work with students in many ways—through classroom lessons, small groups, and individual counseling—and we are so grateful for all they do for our students and families.
They have also planned a special Kindness Spirit Week for next week. Be sure to check out the theme for each day below in this newsletter. On Wednesday, the theme is “Say Cheese”—students should wear their smiles to school, as we will also be having class pictures that day.
We are hopeful that next week brings full days of school. Have a wonderful weekend!

Kindness Week is coming 2/09- 2/13
What is Virginia Kindness Week?
The purpose of Kindness Week is to recognize that simple day-to-day acts of kindness enable our schools, communities, and state to be a kinder, safer, healthier and more inclusive place to live, work, learn and play.
This is a schoolwide and community celebration. At Bailey’s we will have a Spirt Week to celebrate kindness (paper copies will be sent home in Thursday folders on 2/5) with each day having an action item to go along with the theme. Classrooms will have discussions on why kindness is important and how to show kindness to all (self, peers, adults, environment).
Lastly, as a family you can use the Kindness Idea Bank document to think about different ways to show kindness at home, school, and in the community.
Warm Up FCPS – Divisionwide Spirit Day
