💡Spotlight on Specials: PE with Ms. Maclauchlan & Ms. Wagar

We finished the quarter STRONG with fitness testing for 4th through 6th grade. We are so proud of all of our students for putting in their best effort on these measurements. It's an important step for them in understanding there personal fitness levels. This data stays with them through high school and they'll be able to track their progress! This week, we are working on our muscular strength and endurance as well as our cardiorespiratory endurance through a curl up game called Catapult! They sure did get a workout!
Our Kindergarten through 3rd grade students learned about their circulatory system and the basic path our blood takes to transport oxygen through our body. They learned that their heart is a muscle that pumps blood that carries oxygen from the lungs to the body! It was fun to watch them ride on scooters demonstrating what they had learned as they traveled through this system.
February brings a new quarter and a new unit! We will learn about the 2026 Milan Winter Olympics and participate in some games of our own!

It’s Kindergarten Registration Time!
Kindergarten helps children learn and practice the social, emotional, problem-solving, and self-regulation skills they will use throughout their lives.
Fairfax County public schools typically conduct kindergarten registration events, including orientation, in the spring. Eligible children can be registered throughout the summer, but registering your child early helps schools prepare and ensure they have the teachers and resources needed on the first day of school.
If your child will attend our school, please gather necessary documents and complete registration forms as soon as possible.
FCPS offers support and resources for all families to help with registration and the transition to kindergarten. For support in other languages, please visit the FCPS Registration webpage.
