THIS WEEK AT MADISON

2/2/2026

IMPORTANT INFO & EVENTS

Driving and Kiss and Ride - PLEASE READ!

To alleviate congestion on James Madison Drive, we ask that ALL Kiss and Ride drop offs and pick up happen in the back of the building by entering our campus from Flint Hill Road. Please arrive as early as possible. To help with morning drop-offs, we will open the building 15 minutes earlier, at 7:15 AM.

Driving to School

If driving to school, please be aware that the presence of large snow piles has reduced the number of available parking spaces. However, the majority of our parking spots are still accessible. We strongly suggest visiting the school this afternoon or evening to confirm the availability of your usual spot. The gravel lot is open, but we advise exercising caution in this area. Changing temperatures may cause the melting snow to create muddy or icy conditions.

Midyear Student Attendance Summary - Coming Soon!

As you know, regular attendance is a priority at Madison High School and is crucial for the academic success of all students. Studies have repeatedly proven that students with better attendance records perform better in school and are more likely to graduate high school on time.

In the next few weeks we will be sending out a personalized Attendance Summary to each student and family.  We recognize that there are a variety of reasons that students are absent and this summary will be for informational purposes only.

We appreciate your partnership in prioritizing regular school attendance.  Please reach out to your student’s counselor or visit this FCPS resource on Encouraging School Attendance if you need additional support.

STUDENT SERVICES & TESTING

College Partnership Program

The College Partnership Program (CPP) is one of many opportunities for FCPS students to access support as they explore the idea of going to college. The goal of CPP is to systematically mitigate the impact of barriers to access and opportunity, and support students who are from populations that are historically underrepresented on college campuses. The CPP application is now open for current 8th -10th graders and 11th graders who enrolled in FCPS after January 1, 2025. Students will need to log into their G Suite school account (e.g., studentID@fcpsschools.net) to access and complete the application by February 20.

WIDA Testing

Due to the impacts from last week’s snow days, the WIDA assessment for our ML students will begin on Wednesday, Feb. 4. Students received an email from Mrs. Frate with their updated test schedule. If students have any questions about their test schedule, they should email Mrs. Frate at jlfrate@fcps.edu.

WLCBE Score Reports

For those students who participated in the World Language Credit by Exam this fall, score reports will be available for viewing in SIS ParentVue this week. Student’s results can be found in the “Documents” section or the “Test History” section of SIS ParentVue. Families without a ParentVue account will recieve your student’s result via the mail by mid-February. If you need assistance with your student’s WLCBE score, please reach out to Mrs. Frate at jlfrate@fcps.edu.
