Join us on Monday, February 9, for JERSEY DAY! Students are encouraged to wear their favorite Jersey to school in honor of Superbowl Sunday!
Red, Pink, and White Day
Next Friday, February 13, we will show our Valentine Spirit by wearing Red, Pink, or White.
Kindness Spirit Week
Looking ahead, we will be celebrating Kindness with a Kindness Spirit Week February 18-20.

🧸 Kindergarten Registration: It’s as Easy as 1-2-3…
Do you know anyone with a risking Kindergarten student? Kindgergarten registration for the 2026-2027 school year is now open!
There’s an easy five-step process for parents wanting to register their child for kindergarten:
- Determine eligibility.
- Identify your local school.
- Gather documents.
- Fill out forms.
- Schedule an appointment.
After the appointment at the school (the student and one caregiver must be present), the student will be ready for orientation or any other introductory events each school may host. Read more about the registration process. For more information, call Jackie Garcia at 703-641-8200.
💻 Try Online Registration
Parents may register their children online for kindergarten through 12th grade. Learn how to begin the online registration process. When registering, parents will create (or log in to an existing) SIS ParentVUE account.

 Our Wildcats were excited to be back in school this week and we were so glad to have them back.
The Falls Church High School International Thespian Honor Society will be hosting a Theatre Enrichment Day on Tuesday, February 17, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Students will have the opportunity to participate in sessions focused on improvisation, makeup, choreography, costumes and props, and technical design. This event is open to 3rd–6th grade students who are interested in learning more about how a theatrical production comes to life, from the page to the stage. Sign up online now!
Pizza lunch will be provided. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged. The cost is $100 per student, payable through MySchoolBucks.

Dining Room Assistant: Now Hiring!
Interested in spending some time with our Wildcats? We are looking to fill our dining room assistant position.
Hourly, $13.76 per Hour
Description: Assists students during lunch time. Supervises student clean-up, keeps order, and dismisses students to their teachers.
Qualifications: Friendly, energetic, and assertive in maintaining expectations of cafeteria behavior, and loves working with children.
Hours: 11:00-1:30 M-F **Some flexibility on 3-hour early release days and 2-hour delay days is required.

Warm Up FCPS – Divisionwide Spirit Day
Tired of all the cold weather? Let’s warm up with a little school spirit across the division!
Superintendent Dr. Michelle Reid is encouraging all FCPS students, teachers, and staff to shake the wrinkles out of their brightest outfits and tropical wear to help brighten everyone’s moods on Thursday, February 19.
Meal Kits for Fasting Students
From February 18 to March 19, students who are fasting during the day can take school meals home. These kits include one breakfast and one lunch to be eaten after the school day ends.
Families must fill out a request form each week for every student who wants a kit. The first deadline is Wednesday, February 11, for the week of February 16. Please note other important details below:

Cost: Meals are charged just like a normal school day.

Pickup: Students must grab their kits at the end of the school day.

Menu: Kits include school meals that are easy to heat at home.

Help Keep Woodburn Phone-Free!
Please remind your student that cell phones and personal devices (AirPods, earbuds, headsets, other items connected to the internet) must be off and away for the entire school day (bell to bell). Cell phones are also not permitted to be used as an instructional tool.
FCPS’ cell phone policy helps students stay focused, safe, and engaged at school. Visit FCPS’ cell phone policy webpage for more information and answers to frequently asked questions, including consequences for cell phone policy violations and exceptions for students with medical conditions or IEP/504 plans.
