News from Fairfax Academy, 1/30/2026: Important Info Inside!

A Note from Your Academy Admin

Fairfax Academy,

Below you will find some very important updates!

First, a reminder: it's course selection time! If your student will continue with the next level of their Academy class, they do need to be registered for it. Check in with your base school counselor to make sure their course requests include their Academy courses.

We are reminding all families about the Academy parking policy - all students need an Academy parking permit, and it needs to be visible while students are parked on campus. See more details below.

And then... keep reading for the fun stuff!

Musical Theatre & Actor's Studio presents: "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying". Opens February 4! See the updated performance schedule below and the link for tickets.

Dance presents: "Grounded", in which our Fairfax Academy Dance students and friends present a program of student work. February 20 at FHS!

As always, the links to report Academy attendance are also at the bottom of this email. Reach out with any questions!

Academy Registration

During course selection, students who will return to Academy for the 2026-2027 school year need to be registered for the next level of their Academy class. Your student should make sure their counselor includes their Academy class in their course requests.

Please reach out to Luke Donald, Academy counselor, at ladonald1@fcps.edu  with any questions!

Academy Parking

Students who drive to Academy need an Academy parking permit, even if they have a base school parking permit. (Note: AM parking permits are sold out, but midday and PM permits may still be available.) Students must park in Academy parking and display their Academy parking permit. Vehicles in staff or FHS student spaces or without Academy hang tags are subject to ticketing or booting.

Please reach out to Sarah Tarvid at starvid@fcps.edu or come to E119 for help with parking.

How to Report Academy Attendance

Did you know? Academy attendance is separate from base school attendance. Here's how to report Fairfax Academy attendance. This applies to all absences (illness, vacation, field trip, testing) and all base schools (including Fairfax HS).

ParentVue entries are not visible to Academies, and we do not receive notification of base school submissions.
