Good Morning White Oaks Community,
The past two weeks have certainly been out of the ordinary! We hope everyone stayed cozy and made the most of our unexpected snow days.
We want to extend a huge thank you to our incredible custodial team for their tireless work clearing snow and ice to keep us safe. Throughout this issue, you will find 'before-and-after' photos showcasing their hard work in action.
We are thrilled to welcome our students back to the building this morning!
The SCA is hosting our annual 'Soup-er Bowl' this Friday, February 6th. Please bring in canned soup to support your favorite team!

Happy Black History Month! In February we celebrate the history, culture, and achievements that Black Americans have contributed to U.S. history. We're excited to learn more about what Black History means to the White Oaks community.

It’s Kindergarten Registration Time!
Kindergarten helps children learn and practice the social, emotional, problem-solving, and self-regulation skills they will use throughout their lives.
Fairfax County public schools typically conduct kindergarten registration events, including orientation, in the spring. Eligible children can be registered throughout the summer, but registering your child early helps schools prepare and ensure they have the teachers and resources needed on the first day of school.
If your child will attend our school, please gather necessary documents and complete registration forms as soon as possible.
FCPS offers support and resources for all families to help with registration and the transition to kindergarten. For support in other languages, please visit the FCPS Registration webpage.
FCPS CARES
Has a White Oaks staff member gone above and beyond for your child or family? If so, we invite you to recognize their efforts through the FCPS CARES Program. This program allows parents and community members to celebrate employees who demonstrate exceptional care for their students, colleagues, and the community. After being stuck inside during the storm, it’s finally time to get out and see some familiar faces! Let’s celebrate being back with a White Oaks Spirit Night at Kung Fu Tea.

- 📍 Where:Kung Fu Tea, 9530B Old Keene Mill Rd, Burke
- 💰 The Impact:20% of all sales go directly to the White Oaks PTA to help fund for community building events.
Warm up with some hot milk tea or stick to the classics—either way, it’s the perfect excuse to get out of the house and support our school!
White Oaks Chess Club: Spring Registration is Open!
Calling all 2nd–6th graders! Whether your child is a beginner or a seasoned pro, come join the White Oaks Chess Club this spring. It’s a great way to build focus, strategy skills, and friendships.

Cookies and Cocoa Cart
Due to the upcoming weather, we are hitting the "snooze" button on our Teacher Appreciation event. We want to make sure everyone stays safe and that our treats get the attention they deserve!

Join Us for a Book Swap & Teacher Appreciation!

The White Oaks TSAC (Teacher & Staff Appreciation Committee) is hosting a Book Swap & Card Signing event! It’s a wonderful chance to refresh your bookshelf and show some love to our amazing school staff.

When: Tuesday, February 3 from 3-4 pm (come when you can and leave when you need to in order to pick up your student(s) from school)

The Activity: We’ll be visiting, swapping books, and writing thank-you cards for our White Oaks Staff.

What to Bring: Please bring a book (or two) that you are ready to pass on.

Preparation: Make sure your books are wrapped and labeled with the genre, a brief description, or a few key descriptive words.
