Friendly Reminder: January Student Holidays/Teacher Workdays

Hello MUES Families,

We hope that you and your family survived our first significant snowfall in quite some time and are finding things to do since our Mustangs have the week off of school.

This is a friendly reminder that school is closed for students on both Thursday, January 29th and Friday, January 30th for teacher workdays. We cannot wait to welcome our Mustangs back on Monday, February 2nd!

Because the last day of the second quarter was originally set for today, it has been pushed back to Tuesday, February 3rd for teachers to administer any end of the unit/end of the quarter assessments; as well as have our students finish up any current assignments that they are in the process of working on. Teachers will take these assignments and assessment scores into consideration since the grading window for the second quarter has been pushed back to Friday, February 6th.

Should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me at MMGoddin@fcps.edu

Stay warm, MUES Family!

Mrs. Goddin

MUES Snow Challenge- Isn't This Snow Much Fun!

sledding

We know that the snow brings on a lot of outside fun with sledding, snowman building, snowboarding, skiing, making snowballs and other snow-related activities. We'd love to see how our Mustangs have been enjoying the snow!

Please submit your pictures from "The Artic Blast of 2026" by either posting them on our school's Facebook page (McNair Upper Elementary School) or emailing them to me (MMGoddin@fcps.edu).

Staff and students will be voting on the most exciting picture that captures one of our Mustangs making the most of the snow! Entries need to be submitted by 12:00 PM on Wednesday, February 4th.

The winner of this friendly snow challenge will get a special lunch bunch with Mr. Credle & Ms. Goddin!
