Last week we had fun with sports/jersey day, celebrating Mrs. Kilgallin's future baby, plenty of learning, Freaky Friday treats, and indoor movie night! Thank you to all our families who helped or joined these events.
Congratulations to the Lemon Road students that participated in the Virginia Science Olympiad yesterday! We are proud of all our Division B participants and look forward to Division A competing after spring break.
- Remaining 3-Hour Early Release Wednesdays for the school year are: February 18, March 18, April 22, and May 13.
- Help us recognize our staff! Donate snacks/drinks that will be shared with the staff using specific staff favorites or anything you have on hand.
- Register to volunteer/chaperone at Lemon Road. Visit the Volunteer FCPS website or contact Mrs. Olsavsky at enolsavsky@fcps.edu.
- Add money to your child's lunch account through MySchoolBucks, check out the menu, and apply for Free and Reduced-Price Meals here.
- Nominate a Lemon Road staff member for a FCPS Cares recognition!
- Have your child log minutes of ST Math, Lexia, Khan Academy, or Varsity Tutors to keep up with learning throughout the winter. Access all through Lemon Road Student Links (some apps require logging in through Clever). There are many learning, typing, and researching apps available.
🎬Movie Night: THANK YOU to everyone who joined us for an indoor viewing of Dogman Friday night. We loved seeing so many families at our final movie night of the school year. Of course, it wouldn't have been possible without so many of you volunteering and donating food/drinks for concessions. THANK YOU!

🐔Restaurant Night: Save the date for our second restaurant night of the school year on Thursday, February 19 at Chicken Salad Chick from 4-8 p.m. Yummy dinner for you means a little extra pocket change for PTA. You can dine in or carry out!

Winter weather is here! Watch this video to see how weather closing decisions are made at FCPS. FCPS’ website is generally the first place to find out about emergency weather closings. Other communication channels will be used as quickly as possible, including email, text, social media, the new FCPS mobile app, and news stations. Be sure to plan for the winter season. Update your contact information in SIS ParentVUE, bookmark the FCPS website, and arrange emergency child care if needed.
⛄ Keep Your Child Warm During Outdoor Activities
We will monitor the weather for low temperatures, wind chill advisories and warnings, and weather advisories that may prevent children from being outside. Make sure your child is dressed appropriately with a warm coat and other cold-weather clothing, so they can comfortably enjoy their time outdoors. If you need assistance getting cold-weather clothing for your family, please call Fairfax County Coordinated Services Planning (CSP) at 703-222-0880. Their multilingual staff can assist with any challenges you are facing, including food, shelter, employment, financial assistance, and health.
