Wednesday, January 28, is the last day of the quarter and a 2 hour early release for students.
Schools are closed for students on Thursday, January 29, for a staff development day, and Friday, January 30, for a teacher workday.

❄️ Prepare for Winter Weather
Winter weather will be here before you know it! Watch this video to see how weather closing decisions are made at FCPS.
FCPS’ website is generally the first place to find out about emergency weather closings. Other communication channels will be used as quickly as possible, including email, text, social media, the new FCPS mobile app, and news stations. Learn more about how schedule changes are communicated.
Be sure to plan for the winter season. Update your contact information in SIS ParentVUE, bookmark the FCPS website, and arrange emergency child care if needed.
Winter Resources for Families
A list of resources has been compiled for students and families in case they or someone they know needs assistance while schools are closed for winter weather. Please visit FCPS’ winter resources page for information on academic support, mental health support, and county resources related to food, clothing, housing, and other needs.
Immunization Events
FCPS, in partnership with Inspire Health Alliance, will provide school-required immunizations and optional flu shots for all FCPS students with no out-of-pocket costs. Multiple events will take place at designated FCPS locations. Additional dates will be available throughout the school year.
Parents or guardians may view upcoming events and schedule an appointment for their student. Participation is voluntary. View immunization resources on the FCPS website.

Open House: Edison Academy
Edison Academy invites you to attend their in-person Open House event on Saturday, February 7, 2026 from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM (snow date is Saturday, February 21).
They are located at 5801 Franconia Road, Alexandria, VA. The entrance is located at Door #13. You will have the opportunity to tour their state-of-the-art facilities, meet their instructors and current students, and learn more about their incredible courses! Gap Year Fair
FCPS School Counseling Services and Go Overseas will co-host the annual FCPS Gap Year Fair on Wednesday, January 28, from 6 to 8:30 p.m., at Marshall High School.
This event is for high school students and their families who are interested in learning about opportunities for the year following high school graduation. Students should register at USA Gap Year Fairs.

Late Senior Photos
If you did not have your senior photo taken during one of the senior photo sessions at WSHS, you may have your senior photo taken at the Victor O'Neill Studios location in Chantilly. Photos must be taken by January 29th in order to be included in the yearbook. Please use this link to register.
