Message from Mrs. Castillo

SCA Meeting

This week, we were busy with many midyear assessments taking place across all grade levels.  These assessments provide valuable information that helps teachers monitor and student progress and plan instruction to support students. Student reports will be shared with parents at the close of the window - both on ParentVue and printed and sent home in Wednesday folders (in a few weeks).

Thank you to the families who attended our PTA meeting on Wednesday. The PTA welcomed a community partner Ambreen Rizvi, Founder & President Brigade of Mercy, and Mrs. Busch shared some STEAM and Eco Defense Updates! See below for other PTA updates.

SEL Screener results posted in ParentVue (under Documents) for families of 3rd - 6th graders.  If you would like assistance interpreting the results, check out the SEL Screener Family Guide which provides you with tips about how to talk with your student about the SEL Screener. If you have any questions about your child’s SEL Screener results, please contact Ms. Gray (School Counselor) at ergray@fcps.edu.

A big thank you to families who have donated drinks & snacks for our staff!  On Friday, they appreciated the staff lounge refrigerator stocked with iced coffee drinks, sodas, sparkling water, and k-cups.  We appreciate you.

As a reminder, all FCPS schools and offices will be closed on tomorrow to celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. We look forward to seeing everyone back on Tuesday!

STEAM Excitement with Mrs. Busch

Grade 3

Recently Lemon Road students explored Evo Ozobot programming in STEAM with Mrs. Busch!  Using colorful lines and specific color combinations, students were able to direct this tiny robot to go fast, disco spin, moonwalk, and more!

Grade 5 Circuits in Science

Circuits

Our 5th graders were buzzing with excitement as they explored simple circuits and successfully lit light bulbs during a hands-on science experiment. These engaging activities help students build curiosity, problem-solving skills, and a strong foundation in STEAM learning.
