Run-a-thon Call for Sponsors

Dranesville's largest annual fundraiser, Run-a-thon, will take place April 8th and 9th.

We're looking for more help from our community and corporate businesses to help support the prize structure. If you work for a company that might be interested in making a donation or sponsoring one of our big run-a-thon prizes, we’d love to hear from you.

Corporate sponsorships help us secure amazing prizes while keeping our fundraiser costs low, so more money goes directly back to our school. If your employer supports community partnerships or school fundraising, please reach out to Katie Franklin at christopher.kate@gmail.com —we’d be happy to share details and explore the opportunity together.

For new Dranesville families, the large prizes last year included an Amazon Fire tablet, a motorized scooter and a Nintendo Switch Lite. Additional prizes included custom water bottles, bracelets, and fidget spinners as well as items donated by local businesses such as Dairy Queen, Duck Donuts and Chick-fil-A.

Seeking Leaders

Your Impact in Action: Helping Dranesville Stay Strong! 🌟 Ever notice those bright new rugs in the Pre-K through 2nd-grade classrooms? The PTA funded all of those, and we’re excited to do the same for 3rd-6th grade this year! From classroom upgrades to field trip buses and all those fun community events, we love making school special for our kids—but we need a little help to keep it all going. We’re currently looking for a President (and one VP) for next year. These roles are the "glue" that keeps our programs running, and we’d hate to see any of our favorite traditions or student support get put on hold.

You Won’t Be Doing It Alone! 🤝 If you’re worried about the workload, don’t be! You won’t be starting from scratch or flying solo. Most of next year's board is already set with a Treasurer, Secretaries, and another VP ready to go. We have a great system in place and will be right by your side with all the training and "pro-tips" you need for a smooth transition. If you’ve ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes or just want to help our kids have the best experience possible, come chat with us at the next meeting! We’d love to have you.

We are seeking a Get2Green Family Ambassador to help us earn an upcycled bench for our brand-new courtyard!

This vital role involves picking up recyclables from the school lobby , weighing them to track our impact , and dropping them off at a local partner location . It’s a simple way to make a tangible difference, improve our school grounds, and model environmental stewardship for our students!

If you’re ready to join our green team, please contact drake@dranesvillepta.com
