Warm & Cozy Winter Morning – January Staff Breakfast
The PTA is thrilled to partner with our 3rd Grade families to sponsor breakfast “Warm & Cozy Winter Morning” for our amazing Dranesville teachers and staff!
Let’s treat them to a delicious spread on Friday, January 9th - we’d love your help to make it happen!

Step Forward: Help Lead the Dranesville PTA
As we begin thinking about the upcoming school year, the Dranesville PTA is seeking a President and one Vice President to help guide our work and ensure continuity of the programs that support our students, staff, and families.
Many of our current board members have rising 5th and 6th graders, and while we remain fully committed to supporting a smooth transition, we need new leaders ready to step in.
Without these roles filled, the PTA cannot function at full capacity—putting at risk the after-school programs, fun community events, staff appreciation, field trip scholarships, bus funding, and other support our students and teachers rely on. Your involvement now helps ensure that this important work continues without interruption and that our school community stays strong.
We’re happy to share that most PTA board positions are already filled, including:
- One Vice President
- Treasurer
- Communications Secretary
- Membership Secretary
This means new leaders will be stepping into a PTA with strong systems, experienced support, and a collaborative team already in place. Current board members will provide training, guidance, and support throughout the year.

📣Dranesville PTA Clothing Drive! 🧥🥾
It's time to clear out your closets for a great cause! The Dranesville Elementary PTA is holding a clothing drive for Women Giving Back, an amazing organization that empowers women and children in need.
Women Giving Back distributes quality clothing to women and children in need at no cost – Help us make a difference! ❤️
📅 Drop-Off Starts: January 6th at Dranesville Elementary (after winter break!)
💡Pro-Tip: Use the winter break to gather and organize your donations! Drop-off can be made at the school starting January 6th.
We are especially looking for NEW/GENTLY USED items, including:

Warmth & Outerwear:Women's & Children's Winter Coats (all sizes), Boots, Snow Pants, Hats, Gloves/Mittens, and Scarves.

Clothing & Shoes:Fall/winter clothes and shoes for women and kids (infant to teen).

Accessories: Purses , Jewelry, and Medical Scrubs.

🏓 Pickleball – Paddle Up & Play!
Grades 3–6 | Wednesdays After School | Jan 14 – Mar 11, 2026
$160/player + transaction fee
In this upbeat, movement-focused program, players will learn to serve, return, volley, and score points — all while practicing teamwork, coordination, and sportsmanship. Whether it’s their first swing or they’re already paddling like pros, everyone has a blast in the pickleball zone!
🏒 Slap Shot Floor Hockey – Stick Skills & Big Thrills!
Grades K–3 | Mondays After School | Jan 12 – Mar 16, 2026
$160/player + transaction fee
Hit the floor running with Slap Shot Floor Hockey, a high-energy indoor program where players learn to pass, shoot, defend, and score — all while having a blast! Kids will develop stick handling, teamwork, and positioning through fun drills and exciting games that keep everyone moving and engaged.

Chess Club

Location: Cafeteria
Learn chess with Silver Knights Academy, the five time world champion’s academy! Class time is divided between lessons and practice games. Lessons range from the basic rules to advanced tournament strategies.
