Happy New Year 2026 with shadow of skyline in background and illustrated fireworks

Happy New Year, Springfield District!

I hope everyone has had a wonderful start to the new year! I wanted to share a brief update on several upcoming public hearings and opportunities to address the School Board. Additionally, see the details below about the Fairfax County Special Education PTA’s next general membership meeting.

The public hearing for the Comprehensive Boundary Review will take place this Saturday, January 10, and sign-ups close tomorrow afternoon. The Superintendent will present the final boundary recommendation to the School Board at our regular meeting this Thursday, January 8. Presentation materials are available on BoardDocs.

Thank you for your patience and for the thoughtful, constructive engagement you have brought to this process. This work represents an important first step toward the incremental changes needed to ensure our school boundaries remain responsive to shifting enrollment, community needs, and the long-term health of Fairfax County Public Schools.

I will be in touch soon,

Sandy
