Welcome Back!

Dear Families and Students,

Happy New Year, and welcome back! I hope you enjoyed a restful and joyful winter break filled with meaningful moments with loved ones. As we return to campus, I want to share how grateful I am for our incredible students, families, and staff. Together, we have built strong momentum this year, and I am excited to continue that progress as we begin this next chapter.

As we return, students will be setting personal and academic goals to help refocus their energy and commitment to learning. In addition, we will be holding Restart Assemblies for all grade levels to reestablish expectations, celebrate our successes, and inspire students to continue striving for excellence. These assemblies are an important opportunity to reconnect as a school community and recommit to our shared values.

A strong start depends on consistent attendance. Daily presence in class is essential for learning, building routines, and staying connected. We kindly ask families to prioritize school attendance and to avoid scheduling vacations during the school year, as missed instructional time can be difficult to recover and impacts student success.

Thank you for your continued partnership, support, and trust. I am confident that with focus, positivity, and teamwork, we will make this an outstanding term. Let’s move forward with purpose, pride, and determination.

Here’s to a strong and successful return!

With gratitude and optimism, Principal Vega Principal

With warmth and gratitude,
Principal Mirnaly Vega

We have set a goal to raise $5,000 and every student has a goal to read at least 300 minutes for the Read-a-Thon period, we want to encourage them to do even more!

Our school-wide goal is to reach 200,000 minutes by January 15, 2026.

Read-a-Thon packets should have come home last week with instructions and a form to log minutes for each of the days - please encourage your children to log those reading minutes and help them earn donations!!!

Keep Your Child Warm During

Outdoor Activities

We will monitor the weather for low temperatures, wind chill advisories and warnings, and weather advisories that may prevent children from being outside. Make sure your child is dressed appropriately with a warm coat and other cold-weather clothing, so they can comfortably enjoy their time outdoors. View the National Weather Service’s tips on staying safe during cold weather.

If you need assistance getting cold-weather clothing for your family, please call Fairfax County Coordinated Services Planning (CSP) at 703-222-0880. Their multilingual staff can assist with any challenges you are facing, including food, shelter, employment, financial assistance, and health.
