Choosing Courses for Next School Year 2026-27

.

Course selection at Herndon aims to empower K-12 students as self-directed learners by providing the resources and guidance necessary to make informed educational decisions. Starting the first week of January, Student Services will host course selection events to help students build their schedules, with a specific focus on the "Multiply Your Options" initiative. The goal of this initiative is to encourage a four-year commitment to mathematics to ensure college and career readiness. Because staffing and course offerings are dictated by student choices, families need to review the provided course catalogs and selection sheets together. Throughout this process, school counselors will remain available to help students navigate prerequisites, organize programs of study, and develop personalized academic plans that transform their long-term goals into reality. A list of events and the course selection materials are available on Herndon’s Course Selection website.
