The Spelling Bee is back—and it’s better than ever! This year, we will host two separate competitions:

  • Junior Bee for students in grades 2–3
  • Senior Bee for students in grades 4–6

A registration letter was sent home in last week’s Wednesday Folders.  The letter contained a QR code for parents to register their child online. Online registration closes Friday, December 19.  After this date, registration will close, and additional entries cannot be accepted.

Dressing for Winter Weather

Dressing appropriately for recess and cold weather—through layering and covering exposed skin—is strongly encouraged for all students and staff. Families are asked to ensure their child comes to school with proper winter clothing to help prevent cold-weather illness.

Winter Break Literacy Adventures

Engaging in literacy activities during winter break helps students maintain the reading, writing, and speaking skills they built during the first half of the school year. Even a little daily practice, such as these 10 fun family activities, helps ensure students return to school confident and ready to continue growing in literacy.

Chanukah

Happy Chanukah to all in our community who celebrate! This Festival of Lights is an eight-day Jewish holiday commemorating the rededication of the Holy Temple and the miracle of a small amount of oil that lasted for eight days. #OurFCPS
