Cold Weather Reminders

As the cold weather has now arrived, please make sure your child is dressed appropriately with a warm coat and other cold-weather clothing so they can comfortably enjoy their time outdoors. We will monitor the weather for advisories and warnings regarding temperatures and wind chills. Please expect that your child will go outside for recess every day, even on days that are below freezing, unless there is an advisory or warning posted that prevents children from being outside.

View the National Weather Service’s tips on staying safe during cold weather.

If you need assistance getting cold-weather clothing for your family, please call Fairfax County Coordinated Services Planning (CSP) at 703-222-0880. Their multilingual staff can assist with any challenges you are facing, including food, shelter, employment, financial assistance, and health.

Left Behind

left behind

Is your child missing a hard bound book? There are a few that have been left behind. How about a nice warm blue winter jacket? There are a few of those as well. These items and more are languishing in the Left Behind. Please check the cafeteria corner. Thank you for asking your child to reclaim his/her clothing. All items left at the end of second quarter, January 28th, will be donated to The Closet in Herndon.
