On Monday, December 15, 2025 Claude Moore Charitable Foundation presented a check for $200,000 to invest in FCPS' Career and Technical Education Health and Medical Sciences program, made possible through Educate Fairfax. Current and graduated students shared how this and the more than $2.19 million investment Claude Moore Scholars has already donated, has and will impact student learning through hands-on skills, industry certifications, and real-world clinical experiences.
Dr. Lynette Henry, Executive Director of Educate Fairfax, the FCPS nonprofit education foundation, along with Educate Fairfax Board Chair Katie Knight and board members who continue to champion this mission were present. In addition, School Board Members Dr. Ricardy Anderson, Ryan McElveen, and Kyle McDaniel, as well as FCPS leaders Lisa Youngblood Hall, Meghan Vroman, Dr. Whitney Ketchledge, and Roberta Pinheiro Janik, Principal of Falls Church High School Dr. Ben Nowak and Falls Church Academy Administrator Bill McGreevy. Mr. Marc Brown, Esq. representing the Claude Moore Charitable Foundation was also in attendance as he has created a transformative partnership through his leadership.
Dr. Reid said that "what stood out most during my visit were our students. Their confidence, curiosity, and compassion reflect the future of healthcare, and I could not be more proud. I am also deeply grateful to our teachers, Academy leaders, and program staff, whose dedication creates learning environments where students thrive."
Many thanks go to the Claude Moore Charitable Foundation. Without their financial support, Chantilly Academy, Falls Church Academy and West Potomac Academy Health and Medical Sciences Programs may not have the state of the art equipment and opportunities for real world learning that are now possible, for years to come.
We are always so honored to have the Inova Trauma Survivors Network speak to our students to learn from a true survivor, a trauma nurse and a social worker to learn all that goes into helping victims heal from harrowing and life threatening experiences.
