As a reminder, winter break will be held Monday, December 22, to Friday, January 2. To help make sure you and your children have a restful break, we have asked that no homework be assigned during this time. Teachers may assign long-range assignments in the weeks ahead of the break, allowing students to practice time management skills, but no assignments will be due immediately following the break. We look forward to welcoming students back in the new year.
Classes resume on Monday, January 5, 2026. See the complete school year calendar.
Did you know that Chantilly Academy is home to one of only two Auto Collision programs in FCPS? Auto Collision gives students a hands-on introduction to the world of automotive body repair work. Students work in a professional shop environment where they learn to assess vehicle damage, bumper and fender restoration, welding fundamentals for structural repairs, and using body filler and sanding for surface preparation. They gain experience in our full size drive-in paint booth, where they practice priming and painting with a spray gun. Students even have the capability to mix paint to precisely match a vehicle’s original color.
In addition to body work, students work on client services vehicles to gain experience with a variety of skills including headlight cleaning and restoration, minor cosmetic repair, detailing, and door handle repair or replacement to name a few. With an emphasis on high quality craftsmanship, safety, and career-ready skills, the program prepares students to graduate ready to step into the auto collision industry.
Our Classroom on the Mall students were asked to support Macy's at Tyson's Corner for their recent Santa Tour. These elves did a fantastic job of spreading holiday cheer as they helped with crafts and other festivities.
Some of our Chantilly Academy Ambassadors were on hand to represent Chantilly Academy at the FCPS CTE Pathway & Specialty Program Fair this week.
PT/OT 1 students were tested on a new competency this week: safely transferring a patient from a bed to a wheel chair.
Dental Careers 2 students practiced coronal polishing this week using their classmates as patients.
Students in Exploring the Language of Medicine were visited this week by Dr. Patrick Callahan, a Pediatric Cardiologist with Inova, and Julie, an Echocardiograph Technician with Inova. Dr. Callahan and Julie shared their experiences working in the cardiology field and students had the opportunity to see an echocardiograph in real time.
