Dear Mantua Families,
We are truly grateful to have welcomed families to our Thanksgiving Luncheon and to share our day with our Mantua community! It thrills our students' hearts to have their family members spend that time with them. We were also honored to host a visit from Mr. Karl Frisch of the FCPS School Board. We put Mr. Frisch to work in the library, reading to students and checking out books. Our students loved having this very special visitor!
We celebrated this snowy 67th day of school with a 67-second dance party at the 6th hour and 7th minute! We plan to continue building community this weekend with our Mantua PTA drama performance of “Seussical for Kids”, ticket purchase and event times are listed below. We hope you will join us!
For the week ahead:
- Our next Early Release Wednesday is December 10. Please check PickUpPatrol to make sure your child’s dismissal plan is correct.
-
Plan to submit your Impact Aid Survey to the Mantua main office no later than December 10th. You may also submit the survey through ParentVue. You can access the survey here.
- Check the calendar and plan to attend a Mantua winter musical concert and share in the talents of our students!
Take good care,
Ms. Shannon, Mrs. Vaughan, Ms. Maurer

AAP referrals
FCPS offers a continuum of Advanced Academic Program (AAP) services to meet students’ academic needs. Families of students in grades 2 – 6 who wish to refer their student for full-time AAP services must submit a referral by December 15. We are unable to accept late referrals. Families should not wait to receive NGAT scores before making a referral. For information about how to refer a student for AAP services, please contact Mantua’s Advanced Academics Resource Teacher (AART), Kathy Van Dyke, by Talking Points or by email at kkvandyke@fcps.edu. Forms and information may also be found at the FCPS AAP web page.
Weekly Staff Spotlight
Staff Spotlight is our way to recognize Mantua's incredible staff! Each week, we recognize a group of staff members. Check them out on Mantua ES Instagram. This coming week's featured staff are members of our 5th-grade team: Ms. Brant, Ms. Carranza, Ms. Gore, and Ms. Sbrocco.
Please use the Spotlight Submission Form to share a positive message with them. We will share the messages with them at the end of next week.
Thank you for helping us make Staff Spotlight a fun and engaging way to celebrate our school community. We appreciate your enthusiasm and support!
