Dear Sleepy Hollow Families,
What an exciting and inspiring week we’ve had at school! Our classrooms have been buzzing with curiosity and meaningful discussions as students learn about changemakers—individuals who have made a positive impact on their communities and the world. From historical leaders to everyday heroes right here in Fairfax County, our students are exploring the values of courage, kindness, and taking action for the greater good. It has been a joy to see their enthusiasm, thoughtful questions, and growing understanding of how they, too, can make a difference.
As we move deeper into the winter season, I’d like to share a gentle reminder about preparing for colder weather. Please make sure your child comes to school dressed warmly with coats, hats, and gloves each day, especially as temperatures begin to drop. Outdoor recess is an important part of our daily routine, and we want all students to stay comfortable and safe while enjoying fresh air.
Additionally, with winter weather comes the possibility of school delays or closures. For the most up-to-date and accurate information, please keep an eye on local news outlets, including WTOP, as well as FCPS social media and website updates. These platforms will provide timely announcements regarding any adjustments to our school schedule.
Thank you, families, for your continued partnership and support. Your engagement and care make Sleepy Hollow the warm, welcoming, and vibrant learning community that it is. I am deeply grateful for each of you and the joy you bring to our school.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend,
Principal Vega
