Greetings Frost MS Families,
I hope this message finds you well! We are officially in December, and I trust that everyone had a wonderful and restful Thanksgiving break. It's always nice to spend time with loved ones before diving back into the final push of the calendar year.
We were delighted to see our first snowfall of the season today! Everything looks beautiful dusted in white. We hope that over the weekend, our students get a chance to bundle up and play in the snow—it’s one of the true joys of winter!
Key Dates & Happenings
-
Picture Makeups: A reminder that picture makeups for any students who missed the original date or need a retake were held today. Students were able to retake their pictures during lunch.
-
The Book Fair is Here! The Scholastic Book Fair is back! It's a fantastic opportunity to encourage reading and find great gifts. Students are able to purchase items during their lunch block. The book fair will be here until December 12th!
-
Parent Coffee Success: Thank you to all the parents who joined us for a great Parent Coffee on Tuesday, generously sponsored by our wonderful PTA. It was an insightful and engaging morning!
Looking Ahead: Important Dates and Observances
Monday, December 8, is Bodhi Day. This is a significant religious observance, primarily celebrated by Buddhists, which commemorates the day the historical Buddha, Siddhartha Gautama, experienced enlightenment (Bodhi). We recognize this important day for our families who observe it. While school is in session on this observance day, several activities are not held, such as tests, quizzes, or field trips.
Winter Concert Series
We are excited for our annual musical performances! Please mark your calendars:
- Next Week: We will host our fantastic Frost MS Band and Orchestra Concerts. Students have been practicing hard, and we can’t wait for them to showcase their talents!
- The Following Week: Our delightful Frost MS Chorus Concert will take place.
Finally, please note that I will be out of the building for most of next week attending an important educational leadership conference.
Please be assured that the school will continue to run smoothly. Our exceptional Frost Administrative Team will be here to support all students, staff, and families during my absence. For any immediate needs, please contact the main office, and the Admin Team will be happy to assist you.
Wishing everyone a cozy and safe weekend!
All the best! “Work hard. Be nice. Widen your circle. We are #ONEFrost!”

Federal Impact Aid Survey
The Federal Impact Aid Survey is now available to complete online.
Thank you parents for continuing to complete your Impact Aid Surveys. If you have not yet done so, take a moment and go online in Parent Vue to complete this Survey. Completing the form online ensures confidentiality, saves resources, and takes seconds. When in ParentVue click the upper right hand corner dropdown and select Online Packets or open registration. Paper Surveys were sent home November 17th. If you need a reprint to go home or any questions related to Impact Aid contact Frost's Impact Aid Coordinator, Rema Cancino rlcancino@fcps.edu
Important reminder about keeping our school environment healthy and safe for everyone in the Frost community.
We know it's nice to smell fresh, but when scented sprays—like perfume, deodorant spray, body spray, or cologne—are used at school, the chemicals in them can actually trigger very serious health conditions for some of our students and adults.
To Keep Frost healthy, please remember that sprays should be used at home before coming to school.
-
Good hygiene is the best way to prevent body odors.
-
If you need to re-apply deodorant during the day, please bring a roll-on product instead of a spray.
If a student brings a spray product to school, it will be taken to the office for the day and returned later.
Thank you so much for helping us keep our school a healthy and comfortable place for all!

Library Fall 2025 BOOK FAIR - Volunteers Needed!
The Fall Book Fair is coming to the Frost Middle School Library on December 5th through December 12th. The librarians can use your help setting up the book fair on December 3rd, cashiering throughout the fair, and taking the fair down on December 15th. Volunteers (and their students!) receive 10% off all book fair purchases!
Frost Library is hosting its Fall Book Fair, brought to you by Bookworm Central and will be open during school days from 7:15 am-2:30 pm. All proceeds directly support Frost’s library, so it’s a great time for the whole family to stock up on holiday gifts and cozy books for winter break!
Sign Up to Volunteer for the Book Fair HERE!
Cash, check and credit cards will be accepted, but to avoid students carrying (and potentially misplacing) cash, please consider setting up a Bookworm Central eWallet or using other cashless payments (ApplePay, GooglePay).
Questions? Contact Amy Sheridan (amyljeffery@hotmail.com) or Sophany Setliff (sophany.setliff@gmail.com), PTA Book Fair Chairpersons or Dawn Alexander, Frost Librarian, at dlalexander@fcps.edu
