Chesterbrook has HEART
Philanthropy Club creates Care Packages for SHARE McLean with Vinson Hall Veterans. CES Families, your donations made this possible!
CES Philanthropy Club Help Others in Need
Thank you to for your support of our recent philanthropy club drive. Our Philanthropy Club organized the project, collected products assigned to each grade and met with Vinson Hall Veterans to create 70 care packages last week. After creating care packages, our students enjoyed cookies, punch and hot apple cider wit the residents. To accompany the care packages, students wrote notes of gratitude, encouragement and well wishes to the elderly clients of Share McLean who will receive our donations. We look forward to this becoming an annual tradition of giving. Chesterbrook has HEART!

Attendance Matters
Every year, absences increase in the weeks before and after winter break. When students miss too many days of school, they fall behind and struggle to keep up with their classmates. Whatever the reason for the absence, the result for the student is the same — learning time is lost. Children will get sick at times and may need to stay at home, but we want to work with you to help minimize the number of days your student misses school. Students that miss 10% or more of the school year, for any reason, are considered chronically absent in the state of Virginia - this data point impacts not only your child's achievement, but their social connections too. The state also posts this data which impacts school ratings! Check out this link to support strong school attendance and when you may need to keep your child home to get well.
