Celebrating 1st Quarter Honor Roll
We are proud of the hard work students have been doing so far this year in all their classes and we look forward to celebrating students who have earned either All A or A/B Honor Roll. All A and A/B Honor Roll Certificates were handed out in FIT on Monday, November 24th.
Please congratulate students on all their hard work!
We are excited to share that we are offering an After-School Testing Center every Tuesday and Thursday. This opportunity is designed to support students who may have missed a test or need additional time to complete an assessment.
If a teacher determines that your child needs to make up an assessment, they may recommend that your student stay after school on one of these days. Ms. Kuflom (One of our Glasgow teachers) will be supervising the Testing Center and coordinating with teachers as needed.
Students who participate must be enrolled in our after-school program and sign up online either at lunch or on their own. On the day they stay, they should report to the cafeteria first for snack before heading to the Testing Center.
Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting student success. If you have any questions, please reach out to the main office.
After-school Closure Dates:
As we approach the Holiday season the after-school program will not meet on the following days:
- Monday, November 24, 2025

Prepare for Winter Weather
Winter weather will be here before you know it! Watch this video to see how weather closing decisions are made at FCPS.
FCPS’ website is generally the first place to find out about emergency weather closings. Other communication channels will be used as quickly as possible, including email, text, social media, and news stations. Learn more about how schedule changes are communicated.
Be sure to plan for the winter season. Verify and update your contact information in SIS ParentVUE, bookmark the FCPS website, and arrange emergency child care if needed.
Keep Your Child Warm During Outdoor Activities
Your school’s principal will monitor the weather for low temperatures, wind chill advisories and warnings, and weather advisories that may prevent children from being outside. Make sure your child is dressed appropriately with a warm coat and other cold-weather clothing, so they can comfortably enjoy their time outdoors. See the National Weather Service’s tips on staying safe during cold weather.
If you need assistance getting cold-weather clothing for your family, please call Fairfax County Coordinated Services Planning (CSP) at 703-222-0880. Their multilingual staff can assist with any challenges you are facing, including food, shelter, employment, financial assistance, and health.
Parents Can Manage Screen Time on FCPS Devices!
FCPS offers the Lightspeed Parent Portal to help you manage screen time on your child's FCPS device at home. With a Parent Portal account, you can control your child’s access to YouTube and pause website browsing during after-school hours.
Please note that parent controls are active only during after-school hours, defined as Monday through Friday from 3:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. (including student holidays) and all day Saturday and Sunday.
If you haven't signed up for the portal yet, use the link at the bottom of your weekly Lightspeed Online Student Activity Report email. To learn more, please visit the Lightspeed Parent Portal page.
Monitoring Support for your Child in ParentVUE
All FCPS schools use an approach called Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) to make sure every student receives the help they need to learn.
MTSS helps school teams deliver high-quality instruction for all students and provide extra time, support, and interventions as needed. Families are partners in this process. Your child’s school will share information about their individual learning, needs, and progress.
To see your child's intervention plans and progress, log in to SIS ParentVUE. Families can expect progress to be updated quarterly.
