đ« Important Message from the Principal:Â
Dear Stone Families,
I am writing to address recent concerns regarding student behavior that we have observed throughout our building this week. Maintaining a safe, respectful, and focused learning environment for all of our students is our highest priority, and we need your partnership to uphold these essential standards.
Â
đ Specific Behavioral Issues
Â
We have seen an unacceptable increase in disruptive and inappropriate behavior, including:
-
Inappropriate Physical Contact: Instances of students pushing, pulling on each other's clothing (such as pants) in the hallways and restrooms. These behaviors often lead to student to student conflicts.Â
-
Restroom Vandalism and Misuse: Significant issues within our restrooms, including:
-
Clogging toilets and sinks.
-
Vandalism and deliberate damage to bathroom stalls.
-
Hiding items (which can be unsafe and disruptive) within ceiling tiles.
These behaviors not only disrupt the learning environment but also show a lack of respect for our school community and the hard work of our dedicated custodial staff. At this time, we have several restrooms in need of repairs limiting bathroom options for students. We are actively working to repair the restrooms to ensure they are safe for all. Our goal is to have all restrooms open and in full operation immediately after the Thanksgiving break.Â
Â
đ€ Request for Partnership
Â
We are addressing these issues directly with the students involved through disciplinary actions and educational conversations. However, the most effective solution requires a united effort between home and school.
We ask that all caregivers have a conversation with their children about the following expectations:
-
Appropriate Behavior: Discuss the importance of acting responsibly and maturely while at school.
-
Keeping Hands to Ourselves: Emphasize that physical contact of any kind must be consensual and appropriate. Pushing, pulling, or touching others' belongings or clothing can lead to conflict and injury, and it will not be tolerated.
-
Respecting Our School and Staff: Stress the importance of respecting all school property (especially restrooms) and the hard work of our custodians, who work tirelessly to keep our building clean and safe. Vandalism results in the misuse of school resources and denies others access to necessary facilities.
Please reinforce that our restrooms are facilities, not recreational areas, and must be treated with care and respect.
We are committed to making our school a place where every student feels respected and safe. Thank you for your continued support as we work together to guide our students toward making positive choices.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.Â
Sincerely,
Sonya Williams
Principal
