Stronger Together
Dear Clearview Families,
Autumn in Virginia is tricky to navigate. The weather on Saturday was reminiscent of a warm, summer day while Sunday brought rain that reminded us of springtime. That cold wind was blowing on Monday and when the sun was hidden by the clouds, it was cold in the shade at arrival and dismissal, outdoor learning, physical education, and daily 30-minute recess. This time of year, it’s ideal to send students to school dressed in layers of clothing which can be adjusted, as needed.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Stephanie Almquist Joshua Redford Rachel Charlton

Thanksgiving Luncheon
🦃
So that all students and families have the opportunity to enjoy lunch in our limited space and to minimize disruptions to the instructional day, we ask families to adhere to the following schedule; therefore, please refrain from asking teachers and staff to send siblings to the cafeteria when it is not their scheduled time.
For visitors who plan to purchase lunch:
The cost for lunch for Clearview students is $3.25 and $5.00 for adults and children (who do not attend Clearview). You may add/use funds from your child’s My School Bucks account or pay cash. Please bring exact change to facilitate a cash purchase. Clearview students will be offered the opportunity to enjoy Grab and Go (cold) lunch on the day they do not attend the Thanksgiving Luncheon and/or are invited to bring lunch from home, as always.

November is National Family Engagement Month
|
This month reminds us that families are children's first and most important teachers, advocates, and nurturers. Strong family support is vital to student well-being and success.
FCPS has many resources designed to increase engagement and partnerships with families while fostering academic success and social-emotional growth.
|
|
 |
Additionally, every school has a family liaison who will welcome and orient families, and help them understand the school's culture, policies, procedures, and practices. They can help connect families to resources in the community. Family liaisons might also assist a family in transitioning to a new school and encourage family-school partnerships to help ensure their student's success and healthy development. Mary Specht is Clearview’s wonderful family liaison.
If you have questions or would like more information, ask your school office to connect you with your family liaison or visit FCPS’ website for a list of region representatives.
🦃 Thanksgiving 🦃
Schools and offices will be closed November 26 to 28. Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving! Classes will resume on Monday, December 1.
November is Native American Heritage Month

It is also a time to raise a general awareness about the unique challenges they have faced both historically and in the present, and the ways in which tribal citizens have worked to conquer these challenges. |
