Notes from Principal Harris
Greetings Frost MS Families,
What a remarkable week it has been here at Frost Middle School! Earlier this week, we proudly recognized our military-connected families in honor of Veterans Day. Thanks to all who submitted photos of loved ones for us to recognize and share with the community. We are deeply grateful for the service and sacrifice of those who have served our nation. On Thursday evening, Ms. Gibas and I had the honor of representing Frost MS at the FCPS School Board recognition ceremony, where we were celebrated once again as a two-time Purple Star School—a distinction that reflects our continued commitment to supporting military-connected students.
Our building was full of excitement as well last night as students participated in our Orchestra String Mentor Night. The energy, talent, and collaboration displayed by our young musicians made it an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to our parent community for your generous contributions to the SCA Thanksgiving Food Drive. Your support will make a meaningful difference for families in need during the holiday season. We also extend our appreciation to the PTA and our SCA sponsors for their leadership and hard work in organizing and coordinating this important effort.
We’re looking forward to cheering on our outstanding student-athletes at the FCPS Middle School Cross Country Championship Meet this weekend. The meet will be held at Liberty MS on Saturday morning beginning at 8:45 am! We know our Falcons will represent us well! In addition, we are thrilled to celebrate our very own Fairfax County Truck Art Contest winner, Frost Falcon Siri N., whose artwork will be featured as part of the Fairfax County Department of Public Works and Environmental Services Solid Waste Management Program. Congratulations, Siri—what an incredible accomplishment!
Finally, we are pleased to share that our weapons detection system soft rollout this week was a success. We continue to learn a lot as we make this change to our morning arrival procedures. We anticipate a smooth transition (maybe a few bumps!) to full implementation beginning next Monday. Families can expect ongoing communication with additional details and logistics in the weeks ahead, and we appreciate your partnership in ensuring a safe and welcoming school environment.
Thank you for your continued support of our students, staff, and community. As always, together we remain One Frost—Anchored in Learning, Set Sail for Success.
All the best,
Mr. Harris Principal, Frost Middle School
Federal Impact Aid Survey
The Federal Impact Aid Survey is now available to complete online.
The Federal Impact Aid program provides money to districts that enroll federally connected students. Help FCPS secure funding from the Impact Aid Program by helping us identify:
- Military families.
- Federally connected families.
- Families living on a military base.
Please complete one form for each child in your household. Remember that only the parent that registered the student with FCPS (the ‘enrolling parent’) can fill out the Impact Aid Survey form.
For families without access to ParentVUE, a paper copy of the form will be sent home with your student starting November 12. Your information will be kept strictly confidential.
Your support will ensure that we receive the resources for which we are eligible.
To access the Impact Aid Form from your computer or mobile device, we recommend using Google Chrome.
Step 1: CLICK HERE or type sisparent.fcps.edu into your Chrome address bar to be taken to SIS ParentVUE. If you don’t have a SIS ParentVUE account, contact your child’s school for an activation letter.
Step 2: After you’ve logged into your ParentVue Account, look for the ‘Online Packets’ link at the top of the page. Click ‘Online Packets’.
Step 3: Next, click the ‘Federal Impact Aid Survey’ button on the bottom of the page. This will take you to the Impact Aid Survey for you to complete.
If you have multiple children in Fairfax County Public Schools, please fill out a form for each child. You will know you have completed all of the forms when you get to the final page, and see a green check next to each of their names.

Every student can take advantage of Varsity Tutors' services at no cost, including weekly live online classes, on-demand 24/7 chat tutoring, essay editing, and study resources such as recorded content, practice problems, and diagnostic tests.
