Skate Night
Saturday, November 15, 6:10 pm
We have reserved SkateQuest, Reston, for a private skate for students from Sunrise Valley and Dogwood Elementary Schools + their families. Students skate free; additional family members are $7. All skaters should register, as space is limited! Sign up now through Nov 14! If purchasing tickets is a financial hardship for your family, use the code "FREESKATE" at checkout for free tickets. To make this event a success, we'd love a few volunteers to check skaters in and to take pictures. Sign up here if you can help. Questions? Contact Jennifer Glynn.

Tuesday, November 18, 4:00 pm
Our next spirit night will be at Chuck E. Cheese on Tuesday, Nov. 18th. Dogwood students and their families will get 20% off if they show our flyer at check-in. Help us make a difference by raising money for our school!

Blast Off! Join Us for "Space in the Community" Night!

This special evening will feature interactive exhibits, fun activities, and opportunities to learn more about the final frontier. Because this popular event is open to families and students from all schools across Fairfax County, space is limited.
Registration is absolutely imperative to guarantee your spot! Don't miss this opportunity to connect with the cosmos right here in our community.

New Parent Controls in the Lightspeed Parent Portal
|
|
· FCPS has enabled new parent controls within the Lightspeed Parent Portal to support families in managing screentime on FCPS devices at home. Parents can now manage their child's access to YouTube and pause web browsing on district-issued devices during designated "After School Hours" while students are off the FCPS network.
· These parental controls are only active Monday-Friday from 3:30 PM to 6:00 AM, and all day on weekends and student holidays when students are off the FCPS network. Parental controls do not interfere with district filtering policies during the instructional day. Parents can register for the Parent Portal using the link provided in their weekly Lightspeed Online Student Activity Report email.
· For more information on Parent Portal, please visit the Lightspeed Parent Portal page on the FCPS website.
· As a reminder, your child should be completing homework at least 4 days a week (Monday-Thursday), anywhere between 10-60 minutes a day. Please see the chart below. Homework consists of ST Math and Lexia, or Summit K12.
