🥳 The Sweet Taste of Victory
(and the Oozy Feel of Slime!)🥳
Dear TLES Families,
The rumors are true: elementary school reading motivation is powered by pure, concentrated, slime-based revenge! 😂
Our amazing students absolutely crushed the Read-A-Thon, logging an unbelievable 90,000 minutes (that’s over 1,500 hours!) to earn the ultimate reward: watching Principal Chiet get completely, delightfully slimed by students and staff this past Friday! Just look at the pure, unadulterated joy on those faces in the pictures! It was the perfect, messy, celebratory blast to cap off our school's massive success.
While I may still be slightly blue and thinking about joining the Blue Man Group, I couldn't be prouder of our Timber Lane Tigers! Every single student played a part in this success—from setting goals and building awesome reading habits at home to helping us blow our fundraising goals out of the water! It's a beautiful reminder that moments like this—where hard work meets hilarious celebration—are what elementary school and community are all about.
This kind of magic only happens when the whole community pitches in. A GIANT thank you is due to Carolyn Sweterlitsch and our TLES PTA for their tireless work organizing this event. Thank you to our dedicated teachers for their encouragement and support in the classroom. And finally, to the parents, care-givers, friends, and family around the country—your support is everything! We are so deeply appreciative of your partnership in making reading fun and helping us achieve success coast to coast!

🦃 You're Invited to Our Annual TLES Thanksgiving Community Luncheon!
We love celebrating the season of gratitude with our TLES community! We're opening our doors once again for our special Thanksgiving luncheon, and we warmly welcome all TLES families. Bring your friends, extended family, and loved ones—the more, the merrier! We can't wait to share a meal with you.
When: Friday, November 21st:
Where: TLES Cafeteria
Grade level lunch times:
- 10:30-11:10 - Kindergarten
- 11:00-11:30 - 1st Grade
- 11:15 - 11:45 - 5th Grade
- 11:45-12:15 - 2nd Grade
- 12:15-12:45 - EAC
- 12:00-12:30 - 3rd Grade
- 12:45-1:15 - 6th Grade
- 1:15-1:45 - 4th Grade
Ticket sales will begin on November 10th between 8:00AM and 4:30 PM in the Main Office. Cash or check is accepted.

Falls Church Academy & Community Health Fair
Join us on Saturday, November 15 @ 9 am - 12 pm, at Falls Church High School (Door #3) for our Community Health Fair and learn about information regarding health services and personal needs. Parent/guardians must be present for all attendees under 18.

The TLES PTA is proud to host Parents' Night Out: Timber Lane Goes Camping (Indoors!)
Friday, November 14th | 5:15–8:30 PM at KiPS Family Gymnastics

Need a night to get that holiday shopping done (or just catch your breath)? We've got you covered! Drop the kids off for a camping-themed evening of fun — all while supporting TLES!
Kids will enjoy:
- Gymnastics & free play

- Camp games
- Pizza dinner
- A cozy movie under the "stars"
- $60 per child (ages 4+ and fully potty trained)
- $20 from each registration goes back to TLES!

The TLES PTA is 126 members strong this year, so far! We hope you’ll consider renewing your annual membership, or joining for the first time. Joining the PTA comes with no obligation to volunteer or attend meetings.
