Good Afternoon Fox Mill Families,
On behalf of Mrs. Edwards and Ms. Denton, we would like to thank the Fox Mill Family for the kind words received this week, as Jamaica faced Hurricane Melissa. To our families, in the nearby island of Hispaniola (Haiti and The Dominican Republic) and Cuba, who were also affected, we wholeheartedly stand with you as you rebuild.
On a lighter note, Ms. Truman’s class played a fun round of “Trashketball” to review for their upcoming unit test in math! The kiddos answered questions and then got to shoot their correct answers into the hoop! 🏀🥳. We stopped by and engaged in this fun activity, much to the delight of the students.
Fifth grade had a spectacular and unforgettable field adventure at Luray Caverns. The students did a wonderful job representing our school, demonstrating curiosity, respect for the natural environment, and great teamwork. Thanks to our chaperones who went with our students and helped to ensure a safe, organized and enriching experience for every student.
A FEW UPDATES
Veterans Day Celebration Reminder
In addition to our planned activities for Veterans Day, we are excited to share some wonderful news! Thanks to the incredible generosity of one of our grandparents, we have received a donation of 18 by 12 inches flags, available for our families to display in their gardens to show their patriotism. Please feel free to stop by the front office to collect one if you are interested.
Our Veterans Day Celebration will take place on Monday, November 10th at 9:00 a.m. in front of the school.
The program will include a flag ceremony led by our Scouts, a song from the Chorus, and a poem presented by our First Graders.
Following the ceremony, please join us for refreshments in the cafeteria.
Veterans who would like to read in a classroom during that week may sign up using the SignUpGenius link below.
Don’t forget to help us honor our veterans by filling out a brick for our Veterans Wall of Honor and sending it back to school.
We look forward to celebrating and honoring our veterans together!
