Opt-Outs & Family Life Education

Families have the opportunity to provide or revoke consent about various resources, lessons, or opportunities at school.  We want your child to get the most out of their school experience! To open up a world of exciting activities and valuable opportunities, we need your collaboration. If you haven't already or if you would like to make a change, please log in and review or provide your consent through our easy-to-use Parent Digital Consent system

One topic that parents often want to review are our Family Life Education Lessons.  Fairfax County Public Schools provides a comprehensive, sequential Family Life Education (FLE) program for students in grades kindergarten through grade twelve.  Parents/guardians may choose to opt their child out of all or part of the Family Life Education program.  Students who are opted out are provided with age-appropriate instruction and every effort is made to foster respect for family choices.

Detailed grade-level program descriptions are available online at Elementary (K-6). FLE grade level-specific lessons are available for are available for parents to preview online in Schoology -> Courses -> All Parents/Guardians: Lemon Road Elementary School.
