Native American Heritage Month

Native American Heritage Month is a time to celebrate rich and diverse cultures, traditions, and histories and to acknowledge the important contributions of Native Americans. It is also a time to raise a general awareness about the unique challenges they have faced both historically and in the present, and the ways in which tribal citizens have worked to conquer these challenges. Learn more about the heritage months, celebrations, and traditions celebrated in FCPS.

Photo Retake Day - November 6

Missed our Fall Picture Day or want a retake? Retakes are tomorrow, November 6, 2025! Any student wishing to have a retake should bring their original photo package to exchange for the retake image.
For families ordering a package, parents/guardians will receive a camera pass via email, after purchase is complete. This can be printed and brought to picture day. The photographer will photograph the printed camera pass along with the student. No worries, if you can't get it printed.

The Book Fair is coming to GBE!

We are excited to be partnering with Bookworm Central for our Fall Book Fair from November 17-21. Students will visit the Book Fair with their classes on November 17 and 18. There will be special family hours from 1:30-3:30 PM on Wednesday, November 19 following the early dismissal, and from 6-8:00 on Thursday, November 20 during GBE Night.
Prefer a cashless Book Fair? Set up a Bookworm eWallet for your student here: https://www.bookwormcentral.com/ewallet.php. With a Bookworm eWallet, you set the maximum amount your student may spend. Your card will only be charged following purchases for the actual amount spent.

Services for Hearing-Impaired and Visually-Impaired Students
Students with sensory disabilities require special services and support to access instruction that is typically presented auditorily (by means of hearing) and visually. FCPS provides educational services to students who are deaf, hearing-impaired, or visually impaired. They are supported in various settings, including at their school site or through itinerant specialists who travel to different schools to work with students, rather than being based in a single school. Learn more about Services for Students Who Are Deaf or Hard of Hearing and Services for Students Who Are Blind or Visually Impaired.
The Virginia Department of Education also provides information about Additional Resources for Serving Students with Sensory Disabilities.
