Dear KJMS Families,
As we wrap up the 1st quarter, I want to thank our students, staff, and families for a strong start to the school year. We appreciate all the hard work and partnership that have helped make these first nine weeks a success. We held our end of quarter pep rallies today and the students did a great job displaying their KJMS pride!
Happy Halloween to all who are celebrating! A quick reminder that students do not have school on Monday, November 3rd, and Tuesday, November 4th. We hope everyone enjoys the long weekend and takes some time to rest and recharge.
Finally, best of luck to our KJMS Cross Country Team as they compete in their meet this Saturday! We’re proud of their effort and teamwork—go Eagles!
If you have any questions or concerns you can contact our main office at 703-934-2400 or contact me directly at cmsmith@fcps.edu.
Enjoy your weekend!

Thank you to all the families and staff member that attended the event with delicious food from their country.
Impact of Federal Shutdown on Local Community

Students with sensory disabilities require special services and support to access instruction that is typically presented auditorily (by means of hearing) and visually. FCPS provides educational services to students who are deaf, hearing-impaired, or visually impaired. They are supported in various settings, including at their school site or through itinerant specialists who travel to different schools to work with students, rather than being based in a single school. Learn more about Services for Students Who Are Deaf or Hard of Hearing and Services for Students Who Are Blind or Visually Impaired.
The Virginia Department of Education also provides information about Additional Resources for Serving Students with Sensory Disabilities.
