📚 A Wonderful Read-a-Thon!
This week has been full of fun reading activities! Thursday we enjoyed our second author visit, and students have also participated in a storybook character parade and other reading adventures. We’re so proud of our students for all their hard work and excitement for reading!
Thanks to all who participated in reading these past few week! As a reminder, the top class in each grade will earn a popcorn and movie party once the Read-a-Thon concludes. In addition, the grade level that raises the most money will earn an extra recess!
Zara Gonzalez Hoang, a local illustrator/author presented “Making a Book with Pictures” to our primary students. She talked about how artists and writers must be persistent and practice their craft by discussing the creation of her latest book, A New Kind of Wild.

Veterans Appreciation
We invite all active and retired military members to a special gathering as a token of our gratitude for your service.

Current TikTok Challenge
We wanted to inform our community that there is a new TikTok trend that involves damaging school property. It is called the Paper Dart or Paper Plane challenge. Students fold sticky notes or pieces of paper into small darts, sometimes with a thumb tack or sharp piece of metal at the end of them then throw them at the ceiling in hopes they stick.
Damaging school property is a violation of FCPS Student Rights and Responsibilities and carries serious consequences. We ask for your help in reminding students about their responsibilities and expectations as a Wildcats and reinforcing with them why damaging school property is not acceptable.
Thank you for your support in speaking with your student.
We loved seeing all of the creative ideas for our Storybook Character Day! Can you name the stories??
