Students in our Carpentry 2 and 3 class had the opportunity to learn from representatives from DEWALT, a leader in tools for professional trades and construction. The representatives brought some of their newest, state-of-the-art tools to demonstrate and students had the chance to step in and try each of the tools, which included a miter saw, belt sander, nail gun, and two types of power drills - all battery operated and requiring no external power source! The DEWALT team explained how each tool can help improve worksite efficiency, quality of craftsmanship, and overall safety, giving students valuable insights into modern construction practices and technologies.
We are grateful to our industry partners like DEWALT who take the time to visit the Academy and share their expertise and provide our students with exposure to the same professional-grade equipment being used in the field today. Experiences like these help prepare our future tradespeople for success in the workforce.

Next, they stopped at the Korean Cultural Center where they immersed themselves in Korean culture by wearing traditional clothing, the hanbok, and making their own kimbap.
