Our Broncos, Our Moments, Our Story
This week, we were excited to welcome School Board Member Ms. Seema Dixit (Sully District) and Member at Large Mr. Kyle McDaniel! They observed amazing lessons in 1st and 4th grade math, 5th grade language arts, and P.E., getting a firsthand look at the great things happening every day at Brookfield.
A Message from Our Admin Team
Dear Brookfield Community,
Today, we officially mark the end of our first quarter! We are incredibly proud of the growth and hard work our students have demonstrated since the start of the school year. Seeing their enthusiasm and academic progress is truly inspiring.
As we close out this quarter, this is a crucial time to remind all families to sign up for Parent-Teacher Conferences. This is such an important opportunity to partner with our teachers, celebrate your student's accomplishments, and share about their academic progress and instructional next steps. Your involvement is essential, and we look forward to connecting with you one-on-one to ensure continued success for your student.
We are so proud of our incredible students and our dedicated Brookfield teachers. Our staff is working diligently every day to provide the engaging instruction and targeted supports needed for all our students to continue growing. Their commitment to excellence makes all the difference.
We hope you have a wonderful and restful weekend. Please remember that students have an extended break this coming week: there is no school for students on Monday (School Planning Day) and Tuesday (Election Day).
We look forward to seeing all our Brookfield Broncos bright and early on Wednesday morning as we kick off the second quarter!
Sincerely,
Lesley Hassen, Principal
Margaret Sisler, Assistant Principal
Anthony Ramakis, Assistant Principal

Principal's Spotlight on Our Community
This week, I am thrilled to feature Ms. Taylor Barlow! Ms. Barlow is a dedicated parent, an active member of our PTA, and a wonderful community volunteer.
Recently, Ms. Barlow has been volunteering her time in our Brookfield cafeteria while our dining room assistant is away. She arrives before lunch begins and stays until the last student leaves. Every single day, she shows up with a smile on her face and an abundant amount of love and kindness in her heart.
We are so grateful for her time and positivity. Ms. Barlow, our Brookfield community is truly a better place because you are a part of it! Thank you!
Do you know a parent, caregiver, family member, or guardian who is going above and beyond in our community? I would love to hear more about the impact they are making and feature them in an upcoming newsletter. Please email me at lhhassen@fcps.edu.

Services for Hearing-Impaired and Visually-Impaired Students
Students with sensory disabilities require special services and support to access instruction that is typically presented auditorily (by means of hearing) and visually. FCPS provides educational services to students who are deaf, hearing-impaired, or visually impaired. They are supported in various settings, including at their school site or through itinerant specialists who travel to different schools to work with students, rather than being based in a single school. Learn more about Services for Students Who Are Deaf or Hard of Hearing and Services for Students Who Are Blind or Visually Impaired.
The Virginia Department of Education also provides information about Additional Resources for Serving Students with Sensory Disabilities.
✅ Return Your Federal Impact Aid Survey
FCPS is asking all families to fill out a Federal Impact Aid Survey. The form is available in SIS ParentVUE under Online Packets, which is in the upper right corner of the screen after logging in. Please complete it as soon as possible. We will provide paper forms to families who have not completed the survey in ParentVUE starting Wednesday, November 12.
Completing this form for each school-aged child in every household is important. This year, FCPS expects to receive approximately $4 million in Impact Aid funding. These funds are used to support all Fairfax County public schools and centers.
For more information, visit the Federal Impact Aid Survey page.
Register for ParentVUE
Learn how to activate your SISParentVUE account, so you can easily submit your survey and have access to other helpful information about your child.
Technical support for using ParentVUE or submitting the survey online is available by submitting a Parent Support Request ticket.
