November is National Family Engagement Month |
Every November, we celebrate our families and all the ways you support your children every day. We are so grateful for our FCPS families! Families are children’s first and most important teachers, helpers, and supporters. Research shows that students do their best when families and schools work together as a team.
This month, we shine a spotlight on the power of family engagement. When families and schools partner together, students grow, learn, and succeed—and every bit of your support makes a difference!
In honor of Family Engagement Month, we’re excited to launch the new Family Café series! These sessions give families a chance to come together, learn, and connect. More Family Café sessions will be offered in other locations across the division later this school year—stay tuned for more!

November 8 is STEAM Day!
STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math.STEAM helps students learn how to solve problems in creative ways and connects learning across all subjects.
Through STEAM, students build skills in thinking, communicating, and working together. These skills help students succeed in school and future careers.

Family Cafe Series

The Family Café Series is a special time for families to come together to learn about important topics that support their child’s growth and learning. These fun and helpful sessions keep families informed and involved in their child’s education—mind, body, and heart.
At Family Café, we believe families are important partners in helping children succeed. We’re excited to learn and grow with you!

The Digital World – November 13th at Herndon Middle School Join us for a hands-on workshop on how to stay safe online. Families will learn about popular social media apps, how to start meaningful conversations about internet safety, and the seven key topics that matter from kindergarten through adulthood. Career Pathways – November 18th at Key Middle School Discover the many Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses available for middle and high school students in FCPS.
