Sangster Veterans Day Celebration: We Want YOU
 Calling All Sangster Military Families!
We're gearing up for our Veterans Day Celebration and want to honor the incredible service of our families!
Join us on Friday, November 10th at 9:30 AM in the bus loop (weather permitting) to celebrate together!
Help us create a special display in the lobby by submitting photos of your military family or service member in uniform.

Lost & Found
 Sangster's Lost & Found is OVERFLOWING! Come check it outside Door 1 10/31-11/7. Items left after Friday, Nov. 7, will be donated. Label your child's belongings so when lost we can find the owner!
Donate Winter Clothing at Sangster, Nov. 10-12
 Drop off gently used winter clothing in the boxes located at the front entrance of Sangster between Monday, Nov. 10 and Wednesday, Nov. 12.
Items accepted:
- Coats and jackets
- Sweaters and hoodies
- Pants
All donated clothing will be distributed to children/teens at FCPS Title 1 Schools. This Warm Clothing Drive is sponsored by Girl Scout Troop 52006. Thanks in advance for your generosity!
Fall Book Fair Nov. 18-21
 Sangster's Fall Book Fair will run Tuesday, Nov. 18, through Friday, Nov. 21, from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 a.m.
The Book Fair will also be open on Math Nights on Wednesday, Nov. 19 and Thursday, Nov. 20, from 6-7:30 pm.
Again this year we will be using E-Wallet for your Book Fair payments, relieving the stress of sending students to school with cash or checks. Cash and checks will not be accepted. You can preload your student’s E-Wallet account with a limit, and your credit card will only be charged the amount they use, up to that limit. It’s easy to use, and easy to set up. Math Nights 11/19-11/20
Sangster Math Nights will be Wednesday, November 19th from 6:00PM – 7:30PM for families with last names A – L and Thursday, November 20th from 6:00PM – 7:30PM for families with last names M – Z. Look for more information about Math Nights in your Thursday folders!

3rd-6th Graders: Spelling Bee Registration Open
Registration for the 2026 Sangster PTA Spelling Bee is now open! The Sangster PTA Spelling Bee is open to 3rd through 6th grade students and will be held in the Sangster Cafeteria on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 (6:00–9:00 p.m.).
All interested students must register in advance for the Bee. Final day of registration is Sunday, December 21, 2025. No registrations will be accepted after Sunday, December 21, 2025.
The winner of the Sangster Spelling Bee will go on to compete with the other local school spelling bee champions at the Fairfax County Spelling Bee on March 22, 2026, at Lake Braddock Secondary School.

FCPS is asking all families to fill out a Federal Impact Aid Survey. The form is available in SIS ParentVUE under Online Packets (in the upper right corner after logging in). Please complete it as soon as possible.

Collecting for Thanksgiving Baskets
 The Sangster community is partnering with local realtors to gift Thanksgiving baskets to local families in need.
Drop off for the "BlessingBaskets" will be Friday, Nov. 14, from 4:30-6:30 pm at Ledo's Pizza at Cardinal Forest Plaza.
Examples of items to donate include:
- Laundry baskets to hold the goodies
- Gift certificates to local grocery stores for turkeys
- Cans of corn, green beans, cranberries
- Cans/packets of gravy, cream of mushroom soup
- Box of muffin/biscuit mix
- Nonperishable dessert
- Other ideas: rice, beans, cereal, dog food, socks, toys, toiletries, games, laundry detergent.

News for Rising 7th Graders
Irving Midele School: Information Night about Full-time Advanced Academic Services
Irving staff will provide a program on Thursday, November 6 at 6PM in the library at Irving. This program will discuss the Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) they offer for students who have qualified for Full-time AAP services as they differ from what students experience in elementary schools.
- Irving staff will discuss the classes offered for students who have qualified for Full-time AAP services and the process to apply should families want their child to participate in these classes.
- The FCPS AAP website also provides information about the various levels and the process to apply.

School Hours, Late Arrival Policy, Early Pick Up
School hours are 9:10 a.m. to 3:55 p.m.
Students who arrive after 9:10 a.m. must be walked into the main office and signed in by an adult.
If you need to pick your student up early, come to the office with your ID, and we will call your student down. Early pick up cut-off time is 3:30 pm.
