Halloween fun with infectious diseases

Medical Assistant students selected a disease of their choice, researched that disease and carved pumpkins to represent that condition.  In addition, students had to answer questions to make their way through a medical escape room!  Great Halloween fun had by all the Medical Assistant students.

Students gain medical career knowledge at Inova Day!

Falls Church Academy is honored to have a strong relationship with Inova Health System who provided a great experience for our students on Inova Day.  Professional representatives from the career areas of nursing, pharmacy, diagnostic imaging & sonography, histology, medical lab and respiratory therapy provided hands-on activities and presentations so students could understand that career field, the education and certifications needed and what a day in the life of the medical area looks like.

Dental screenings provided to elementary students

Students from the Dental Careers course attend multiple dental screening opportunities at area elementary schools through the academic year.  Dr. Julie Jung, DDS, with Tyler Dental Clinic provides the screenings while the dental students, supported by Dental Teacher Mrs. Emily Velez, assist her and provide healthy oral habits educational activities for children.
