School News

Dear Poplar Tree Families,

We cannot believe we have reached the end of the first quarter! Time has flown by! Whether students have been working on counting and fact fluency in our younger grades or decimals and fractions in the upper grades, identifying the 5 Regions of Virginia or exploring Life Cycles and Ecosystems, building foundational literacy skills that help them to become avid readers as they get older...all our students have already grown so much since August!

It was a great week of Incentives in honor of raising so much money for our Panther Prowl! Monday, we had Free Choice Seating in the cafeteria! Check out our Facebook post about this HERE. Wednesday, some of our teachers got tattooed by those students that raised the most money! See a video about this HERE! Today many teachers are dressed in crazy/silly costumes and in the next couple week's we'll have our K-Poplar Karaoke since our school as a whole raised over $25,000! Way to go Panthers!

We are very excited to honor our Veterans next Friday, November 7. Our annual Veterans Day celebration is always a favorite for our staff, students, and community. If you or a family member are planning to attend, please do not forget to RSVP via the form linked HERE.

Remember there is no school for students Monday, November 3 and Tuesday November 4. We hope everyone enjoys their weekend!

Sue Andujar, Principal

Amy Alley, Assistant Principal
