fun run

Ms. Nesbitt's Class had a great time at the Fun Run today.

Hello Camelot Families,

Thank you to Coach W, Coach Teoli, Joanna Verdi and the PTA, and to all families who came out to support the Fun Run today!  Thank you to all who ran and walked.  We are thrilled at the progress towards the PTA’s fundraising goal, and extend our thanks to families who were able to contribute so far. If you would still like to contribute to the fundraiser, please go here: https://app.99pledges.com/fund/runforcamelot?home_v2=true

Next week, we wrap up the 1st quarter.  Wednesday is a 3-hour early release day for K-6 at 12:50pm (with supervision available), and Friday is a 2-hour early release day at 1:50pm (without supervision available).  PreK teachers will communicate schedules for these days directly to families.  Please see the notes about both of these days in the articles below.

Tonight, our music teachers will accompany Camelot Chorus members to Falls Church High School for the pyramid singing of the National Anthem.  Thank you to Mrs. Kinback and Mr. Maxwell and our chorus members for representing Camelot.

Thank you,

Aileen, Matt and Ben

Our next Early Release Wednesday is October 29.  On this day, the school day ends at 12:50pm for K-6 students.  (PreK has a regular Wednesday schedule.)  Most students will depart school or go to SACC at 12:50pm on this day, but we do offer supervision to families who need it until 3:50pm.  Buses are available at both 12:50pm and 3:50pm.  We will use the Early Release plan that you selected for your child last month.  If you would like to confirm or change your child’s plan, please use this form or call the school office (703) 645-7000.

October 31 Information

October 31 is a 2-hour end of first quarter early release day for all students.  The K-6 dismissal time is 1:50pm.  This is not a day when supervision is available.

We will have our usual short end-of-quarter dance parties for K-2 and 3-6 on this date.

October 31 is also Halloween.  Students may wear costumes/costume parts that can be managed during the school day, but they need to wear school-appropriate shoes and they may not wear masks, costume head attire that makes it difficult to identify them, or full face paint.  Also, students may not bring costume weapons.  There are no Halloween activities at school on this date.

The Federal Impact Aid Survey is now available to complete online

The Federal Impact Aid program provides money to districts that enroll federally connected students. Help FCPS secure funding from the Impact Aid Program by helping us identify:

  • Military families.
  • Federally connected families.
  • Families living on a military base.

Please complete one form for each child in your household. Remember that only the parent that registered the student with FCPS (the ‘enrolling parent’) can fill out the Impact Aid Survey form.

For families without access to ParentVUE, a paper copy of the form will be sent home with your student starting November 12. Your information will be kept strictly confidential.

Your support will ensure that we receive the resources for which we are eligible.

To access the Impact Aid Form from your computer or mobile device, we recommend using Google Chrome.

Step 1: CLICK HERE or type sisparent.fcps.edu into your Chrome address bar to be taken to SIS ParentVUE. If you don’t have a SIS ParentVUE account, contact your child’s school for an activation letter.

Step 2: After you’ve logged into your ParentVue Account, look for the ‘Online Packets’ link at the top of the page. Click ‘Online Packets’.

Step 3: Next, click the ‘Federal Impact Aid Survey’ button on the bottom of the page. This will take you to the Impact Aid Survey for you to complete.

If you have multiple children in Fairfax County Public Schools, please fill out a form for each child. You will know you have completed all of the forms when you get to the final page, and see a green check next to each of their names.

If you have any questions regarding the survey, please contact Denise Oaks in the Camelot Office dmoaks@fcps.edu or 703-645-7000.
