Dear Poplar Tree Families,
In all the craziness of getting ready for the Panther Prowl, we missed sending out the Paw Print on Friday! We want to thank everyone for supporting our Panther Prowl. From the planning committee, to the volunteers, to the students earning money to support our school - it was a great success! We are pleased to announce that as of today we have raised $24,920!!!!!! The students have earned:
- Free choice seating in the cafeteria (Monday, October 27)
- Tattoo some teachers (date TBD)
- Teachers dress up in silly costumes (Friday, October 31)
Donations will still be accepted until Tuesday! If we can reach $25,000 - teachers will participate in K-Poplar Karaoke!
We hope all who celebrate Diwali had a wonderful festive celebration this past week. We love learning more about traditions and cultures of our very diverse school community!
Don't forget next Friday, October 31 is a 2 hour early release day! Student's will be released at 1:25 pm.

📚Storybook Character Day📚
The SCA invites you to wear your favorite storybook character to school on Friday, Oct. 31st! Please follow these guidelines:
- No masks
- No props (weapons, wands, etc)
- No blow up costumes
- No violent or inappropriate themes
⭐Outstanding Employees⭐
Do you know an amazing employee? We are now accepting nominations to recognize our outstanding employees at Poplar Tree ES for the 2025-2026 school year! Families are invited to nominate an outstanding employee by Oct. 31 using the link HERE!
🦋Help Create a Monarch Waystation 🦋
We are gathering plastic gallon milk jugs to help us grow milkweed. Once we have 30 milk jugs, we can start to grow our Monarch Butterfly Habitat. Please drop off your empty milk jugs in the labeled box in the front lobby.
🎖️PTES Celebrates our Veterans🎖️
Family members of our Poplar Tree students who have served or are currently serving in the military are invited to join us for an in-person celebration on Friday, November 7, 2025!

The celebration will go as follows:
- ⭐ 9:00 am - Reception for Veterans in the Library
- ⭐ 9:15 am - Schoolwide Assembly in the gym
To have your Veterans' photo in a video slideshow we will be showing at the celebration, to sign up for your Veteran to speak at our assembly, or to RSVP to the event, please complete THIS FORM by Monday, November 3! If you have previously submitted a photo, we will use it again unless you would like to submit a NEW photo!
You will have to have a Google account to share your photo on this form. If you do not have one, you can send the photo via email to Leslie Leisey at lfleisey@fcps.edu.

There will be an AAP Referrals Parent Meeting on Thursday, 10/30 at 9:00 in Room 100 at Poplar Tree. You can join in-person or virtually via Zoom HERE.

Before School
👟Running & Walking Club👟
It’s time to get your running and walking shoes on! We are continuing the before-school Running and Walking Club for all student grades 1-6. If a Kindergartener wants to join, please have a parent come and run or walk too. Best of all, it’s FREE for PTA members! Grown-ups, bring your mug of coffee and socialize as you help cross off a Panther Paw for each lap run!
