Happy Friday Fox Mill Families,
What a week! Our Kindergarten and Second-Grade students took their very first field trip of the school year. A huge thank you to our incredible chaperones who helped make their time away from the building both fun and safe for all our students!
A huge thank you to all our amazing 5th-grade parents for providing a delicious breakfast this morning. Your generosity made the morning special and was greatly appreciated by everyone.

Veterans Day Classroom Readers
Our school is welcoming volunteer readers to visit classrooms and share stories with students during the week of November 10th (no school on November 11th). Each grade level has a slot of 10–15 minute for each reading session. When signing up, please indicate if you’d like a book provided or plan to bring your own. Be sure to select the correct grade level and teacher.

International Jubilee
It is fast approaching. Our annual international jubilee takes place on Friday, November 7th from 6pm- 8pm. Experience the world in one night! Join our celebration to enjoy cultural foods, international music, and hands-on country displays where you can stamp your passport after each visit.

Counselors’ Connection
Your school counselors, Jim Franklin and Tamera Owner, would like to invite you to join us for our next “Coffee with the Counselors: 2nd Quarter” session.
This time, we’re excited to welcome a special guest speaker — Mrs. Kate Tedeschi, Fox Mill parent and therapist at Sage House Counseling & Art Therapy.
During this session, you will:
- Learn about mental health resources available in our community • Gain strategies to help your child identify, express, and manage emotions in healthy ways
- Discover ways to help your child deal with anxiety
- Have the opportunity to ask questions and connect with other Fox Mill parents

Return Your Federal Impact Aid Survey
FCPS is asking all families to fill out a Federal Impact Aid Survey. The form is available in SIS ParentVUE under Online Packets, which is in the upper right corner of the screen after logging in. Please complete it as soon as possible. We will provide paper forms to families who have not completed the survey in ParentVUE starting Wednesday, November 12.
Completing this form for each school-aged child in every household is important. This year, FCPS expects to receive approximately $4 million in Impact Aid funding. These funds are used to support all Fairfax County public schools and centers.

Register for ParentVUE
Learn how to activate your SISParentVUE account, so you can easily submit your survey and have access to other helpful information about your child.
Technical support for using ParentVUE or submitting the survey online is available by submitting a Parent Support Request ticket. Select SISParent in the Application dropdown menu and type “Federal Impact Aid Survey” in the Issue Description section. You may also call the Parent Technology Help Desk at 833-921-3277 (833-921-FCPS).
SIS ParentVUE End-of-Quarter Closure
The Gradebook in SIS ParentVUE and StudentVUE will be closed for the end of the first quarter from Friday, October 31, 4 p.m. to Monday, November 10, 6 a.m. Activate your ParentVUE account to easily access grade reports.
