Odyssey of the Mind

Odyssey of the Mind is an international educational program that provides creative problem solving opportunities for students. Lees Corner is happy to offer the opportunity for students to be placed on a team. Team members apply their creativity to solve problems that range from building mechanical devices to presenting their own interpretation of literary classics. Students from kindergarten through sixth grade may participate. The regional tournament will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026. Go here for the problem synopses for this season. To learn more about Odyssey of the Mind, visit https://www.odysseyofthemind.com/ or contact Jennifer Wagner at jjwagner@fcps.edu.  Register your child here to be placed on a school team.  Please consider volunteering to be a coach, as we can only have as many teams as we have coaches for. Each participating team may have up to 7 children.  The registration deadline is November 15, 2025

AAP Parent Screening Checklist

Dear Families,

If you’re interested in referring your child for Full-Time Advanced Academic Program (AAP) services, please review the Full-Time Screening Information carefully. This document outlines everything families need to complete for the screening process.

All forms must be submitted together—either in a manila envelope to the Lees Corner office or by email to Ms. Lauren Williams (lgwilliams2@fcps.edu)—no later than December 15, 2025.

You can find details, links, and virtual office hours in the attached information sheet. Please reach out if you have any questions! 😊

Important Reminder: Classroom Visits and Scheduling

A friendly reminder that for the safety and structure of our learning environment, parents are not permitted to enter classrooms, either inside or outside the building, without a previously scheduled meeting with the teacher. Please contact your child's teacher via email or phone to arrange a time to meet. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain an optimal learning environment for all students.

SCA Presents: Book Character Day!

SCA Book Character Day!

SCA is excited to sponsor a series of school spirit days this school year! Our first school spirit day will occur on Friday, October 31st , where students will have the opportunity to dress up as their favorite book character. We request that all costumes are school-appropriate and do not involve masks or weapons of any type. Please bring the associated book or picture of the book to share. We can’t wait to see so many of our favorite characters come to life!
