FCPS is asking all families to fill out a Federal Impact Aid Survey. The form is available in SIS ParentVUE under Online Packets, which is in the upper right corner of the screen after logging in. Please complete it as soon as possible. Schools will provide paper forms to families who have not completed the survey in ParentVUE starting Wednesday, November 12.
Completing this form for each school-aged child in every household is important. This year, FCPS expects to receive approximately $4 million in Impact Aid funding. These funds are used to support all Fairfax County public schools and centers.
For more information, please visit the Federal Impact Aid Survey page.
Register for ParentVUE
Learn how to activate your SISParentVUE account, so you can easily submit your survey and have access to other helpful information about your child.
Technical support for using ParentVUE or submitting the survey online is available by submitting a Parent Support Request ticket. Select SISParent in the Application dropdown menu and type “Federal Impact Aid Survey” in the Issue Description section. You may also call the Parent Technology Help Desk at 833-921-3277 (833-921-FCPS).

An important note about book fair payments
There have been some changes this year in the way cash and check payments made at the book fair must be documented for deposit. While cash and checks will still be accepted as payment at the book fair, we ask that you consider setting up an electronic payment option for your child if at all possible. Accepted forms of electronic payment include Apple Pay, a credit or debit card, or an eWallet set up via Scholastic. To set up an eWallet account for your child, please visit our online book fair shopping site at https://tinyurl.com/ewallet132 and follow the directions to create an account and load funds for shopping. If you have more than one child who will be using an eWallet, we recommend creating a separate account for EACH child. You can add more money to an eWallet at any time, and any funds leftover after the book fair is over will be saved in the account and can carry over to our next fair.

The Green Team is delighted to announce our participation in the Neighborhood Forest Free Indoor Plant Program!
Since 2010, Neighborhood Forest has reached over 3,500 schools, libraries, and youth groups – engaged over 750,000 volunteers – and planted over 310,000 (mostly urban and residential) trees through the hands of children and parents across North America. Last spring, they gave a record 112,000 kids at 1,500 institutions their very own tree for Earth Day 2025 – 84 of those free trees were given to our WFES students who registered!
We are excited to be working with Neighborhood Forest again, this time engaging young people by giving them a little piece of nature to care for and watch grow inside their home. Indoor plants provide many similar benefits as trees, including purifying the air, improving health and well-being, enhancing concentration/focus, and more!
To receive a free succulent for your child to care for at home, fill out the following online registration form by October 28.
Register by 10/28 to receive a free succulent to care for indoors with your child:

The $460 million School Bond Referendum — supporting the division and county’s commitment to providing safe and welcoming learning environments for all students — will be on the Tuesday, November 4, general election ballot.
The funding provided by voter-approved bonds is expected to fund projects identified in the FY 2026-30 Capital Improvement Program, which was approved by the School Board in February.
The building and renovation of our schools is not funded through the division’s operating budget. Voter-approved bonds allow payment for these projects over time. Read more about the 2025 Bond Referendum. Watch this video that explains, “What Is a bond?”
