The Wildcat Weekly - October 20, 2025

Centreville Students, Families, and Community,

Each week, I’m reminded of just how incredible our Centreville community truly is. This week was no exception. Together, we gathered as a PTSA to hear directly from our students about their insightful, honest, and inspiring experiences that reflect the heart of our school. The PTSA also went above and beyond to show appreciation for our staff with a fun and thoughtful “teacher trick-or-treat.” And to cap off the week, our staff showed their spirit and style by sporting every shade of pink in support of our Pink Out game and breast cancer awareness.

Moments like these are what make Centreville so special. It’s in these moments I am reminded of the importance of focusing on what’s within our control. There will always be outside forces that affect our work, our energy, and our emotions, but what defines us is how we respond. Here at Centreville, we have the power to shape our own story, to write a narrative rooted in perseverance, purpose, and care.

At the center of that story is the work we do every day for our students and for each other. I know that across our school, we are deepening instruction, creating rich learning experiences, and challenging our students to think more critically and creatively. We are building a culture where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued through trust, collaboration, and mutual support. And, we collectively grow by the way we lift one another up.

So as we move forward, let’s continue to focus on what makes Centreville such an incredible place to be. Let’s keep showing up, working hard, and supporting each other as we write a success story that reflects our purpose, our passion, and our unwavering belief in our students and in this community.

Thank you and Go Wildcats!

October 25 - Food For Neighbors Red Bag Event: Centreville High School is proud to partner with Food For Neighbors (FFN) to help feed our local students who deal with food insecurity because even in a county as wealthy as Fairfax, one in four kids in our area are struggling with hunger.  Studies show that when adolescents are fed positive outcomes include increased enrollment in challenging courses, higher graduation rate, improved mental and physical health, a decrease in disruptive behaviors and increased participation in after-school activities".

Food For Neighbors is a local organization addressing this problem by collecting food from our community via their Red Bag Program and donating directly to our local schools. The food is then distributed to the students every week through our food pantry. Please consider donating and/or volunteering to support this important cause.
