LCES Updates 10/17/25 This Week's Updates

A Message From The Principal

Construction

We're excited to share a major milestone in our construction project! This week, the roofing was added to our new addition, bringing the project closer to reality. This significant step allows us to truly visualize the incredible new spaces that are coming soon!

We are on track for the delivery of this next phase before Spring Break, which will provide much-needed, high-quality spaces, including:

  • A New Main Office and Main Entrance
  • A new SACC (School Age Child Care) space
  • A Brand New Addition, featuring ten modern classroom spaces

We know that ongoing renovation and construction continues to demand daily adjustments, and we sincerely appreciate the extraordinary patience and flexibility of our students, staff, and families as we navigate these changes. This next phase will be a wonderful reward for the perseverance everyone has shown, and we can't wait to share it with you.

With the current level of construction, safety remains our top priority. Please be especially mindful of student access to the school and playground areas after hours and on weekends.  Due to active construction zones and heavy equipment on the property, students must be monitored and supervised by an adult at all times when on school grounds outside of the regular school day. Your cooperation in keeping our campus safe for everyone is vital.

We look forward to connecting with you and your family next Friday during our annual Hallowingo event! This is always a well-attended event, so please take advantage of presale offers for tickets to avoid long lines on the night.

Thank you once again for your unwavering support as we continue Strengthening Minds and Building Futures for our students.

Ms. Sloan and Ms. Hutchinson

Important Reminder: Classroom Visits and Scheduling

A friendly reminder that for the safety and structure of our learning environment, parents are not permitted to enter classrooms, either inside or outside the building, without a previously scheduled meeting with the teacher. Please contact your child's teacher via email or phone to arrange a time to meet. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain an optimal learning environment for all students.

Parent Information Night 2: Full-Time AAP Services Screening Information

Parents of students in second through sixth grade, who are interested in having their child screened for the full-time services will learn about the forms, documents, and deadlines for applications. This Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) parent information night will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd at 5:00-6:00 PM in the Lees Corner Cafeteria.  We provide a brief question and answer session for families as well.

SCA is excited to sponsor a series of school spirit days this school year! Our first school spirit day will occur on Friday, October 31st , where students will have the opportunity to dress up as their favorite book character. We request that all costumes are school-appropriate and do not involve masks or weapons of any type. Please bring the associated book or picture of the book to share. We can’t wait to see so many of our favorite characters come to life!
