Lost & Found Items
It might be a sweatshirt taken off at recess on a warm fall day or a water bottle left in the cafeteria, but we've started accumulating lost and found items. When possible we check items for labels so they can be reunited with their owner. However, we have quite a few items that are not labeled. You're welcome to come to school during the school day to look through the lost and found. Any lost items remaining at the end of the quarter will be donated.

Lost & Found Volunteers Needed
Looking for a flexible way to pitch in? We’re seeking three additional volunteers to help with the school’s Lost & Found. The commitment is just once a month. Volunteers divide the months by week (first, second, third, or fourth), and during their week each person stops by once to tidy and organize the Lost & Found. This is a quiet, behind-the-scenes way to support our school community (no direct student interaction required). The teachers and staff truly appreciate this help!
Interested? Please text Liz Baca at 703-505-9208.

 PTA Used Book Sale
This school year, the PTA will be hosting its first Used Book Sale on March 14th. We hope this event inspires young readers and serves as a core fundraiser that helps the PTA enhance the educational experience for all children at HWES.
-
We will be hosting drop-off days where you can donate your used children's and adult books on October 26, December 13, and February 21 from 10 AM to 2 PM in the school parking lot.
-
Over the next few months, we will need volunteers, sponsors, vendors, and of course your attendance at the event to make it a success. It's a great volunteer opportunity for those in middle or high school.
-
Right now, we are looking for committee members to help plan the event. If you could spare a few hours over the next few months, please email communityvp@hwpta.org.
-
Details will be shared about the drop-off days and book sale at www.hwpta.org/books.
