Blue Star Week included a special event for our military-connected students.

Dear Families,

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our families for your ongoing partnership and support! Your involvement truly makes a difference for our students, teachers, and the Churchill Road community.

Last week-

  • As part of Blue Star Week, we recognized our military-connected students with special activities. It was so much fun for the students to get together and share their experiences.
  • Our custodians were so excited to receive all the cards and thank you notes from students, staff and families as part of National Custodian Appreciation Day.

This week-

  • This week is Book Fair week and our library is abuzz with students looking for their next reading adventure. Congratulations to our Book Fair poster contest winners; all the posters are on display in the halls by the library.
  • Be sure to join us for our evening Book Fair event this Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. Come hungry as the SGA will also be selling pizza and light desserts in the cafeteria!

Looking ahead, a reminder that next Monday, October 13 is a staff development day for our teachers; there is no school for students. We will finish out the week with Field Day on Friday, October 17.

We look forward to seeing you at the Book Fair!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Pierson-Barr and Mr. Kilpatrick

What Will the 2025 Bond Referendum on the November Ballot Fund?

The $460M bond referendum on the November ballot is expected to fund the next stages of several ongoing projects, as well as others referenced in the Capital Improvement Program (CIP)

The building and renovation of our schools is not funded through the division’s operating budget. Voter-approved bonds allow payment for these projects over time. Read more about the 2025 Bond Referendum. Learn more about registering to vote. Make a plan to vote by Tuesday, November 4.

FCPS Cares Program

Recognizing employees who go above and beyond

FCPS Cares is an opportunity for parents, staff and community members to recognize those who go above and beyond to help others and show they care. We invite you to submit your story so we can all acknowledge the outstanding work of FCPS, and more specifically, Churchill Road employees.
